eh, I still think it's a small percentage..which is usually the loudest.

I found this pretty interesting, the most pirated film of all time is Avatar.

http://movies.yahoo.com/news/-avatar--is-the-most-pirated-movie-of-all-time.html

Avatar, the 20th Century Fox blockbuster directed by James Cameron, is the most pirated film in Hollywood history, according to a study released by TorrentFreak. The film has been downloaded some 21 million times since it was released in 2009.

Famously, Cameron once touted 3D filmmaking as the entertainment industry's best hope for combating piracy. Unfortunately, the 3D spectacle doesn't seem to have helped his film escape the wrath of torrent sites, but the film has raked in nearly $2.8 billion in wordwide theatrical gross nonetheless.

Avatar's 21 million downloads beat out 19 million downloads apiece for The Dark Knight and Transformers.

All of the films on the TorrentFreak's all-time list of "most pirated movies" did quite well at the box office. Only Kick-Ass failed to crack the $100 million mark, although it came close at $96 million.

Of course, theatrical gross is merely part of the story. Some studio executives believe that online piracy does its most damage on ancillary income like DVDs and TV sales.

Here's the full list of the top 10 most all-time pirated movies:

Avatar (21 million downloads)
The Dark Knight (19 million)
Transformers (19 million)
Inception (18 million)
The Hangover (17 million)
Star Trek (16 million)
Kick-Ass (15 million)
The Departed (14 million)
The Incredible Hulk (14 million)
Pirates of the Carribean: At World's End (14 million)

i got into a discussion with some film school students who bashed it for being Dances with Wolves...which then I came back with that Dances with Wolves was just the nicey-nicey version of the Pocahontas story. I then mentioned that no one complains about the Lion King being a version of Hamlet or that half of Tarantino is lifted from other movies.

A lot of people are critical of Tarantino though, his movies just don't make 2 billion dollars at the box office. lol.

James Cameron Explains Sigourney Weaver's 'Avatar' Return

Nobody is dead forever in James Cameron's sci-fi universe, so don't expect Sigourney Weaver to be sitting out of "Avatar 2."

"When you have a science-fiction series, a science-fiction franchise, you’re never dead, unless your DNA is expunged from the universe. And then there’s always time travel!" he explained in an interview with Vulture. "

But that's not his only explanation for how the late Doctor Grace Augustine might return to the "avatar" universe: "Have you ever heard of nonlinear storytelling? A lot happens on that planet before she shows up, and before Jake shows up to join her. She’s there for fifteen years ahead of time."

James Cameron Talks Avatar 2

Source: Nightline
October 18, 2011

Director James Cameron talked to ABC's "Nightline" recently about Avatar 2, which won't be coming to theaters until December of 2014. While we wait, he offered up some details of what we can expect from the follow-up to the film that earned $2.782 billion at the worldwide box office.

Asked what he can tell us about the sequel, he said, "It's on Pandora. Well, I'm really writing the second and third films together, so it completes a kinda three film story arc. And we will see the oceans of Pandora, which we haven't seen at all and that's an ecosystem that I'm dying to start designing because it's going to look spectacular."

He added that the next film "narrows the spotlight instead of just nature in general or the rainforest. It focuses it a little more on ocean issues, because we have a planet that's a blue planet. From a distance, you look at it, the Earth is a lot more blue than it is, you know brown, the land mass. We're making the oceans unsurvivable for a lot of the species right now. For a lot or reasons. It's just a way to focus a little energy in that direction."

He then revealed a bit more in the interview. "And there will be other planets as well, besides Pandora. It will be a cornucopia, a treat for the eyes," he said.

Cameron added that he's certainly not taking credit for everything though. "I get to imagine things at a kind of fuzzy level and then I bring in a lot of great artists and they come up with all the amazing creatures and plants and that sort of thing."

Asked whether he will approach the new films differently, he said, ""I think it's just a continuation of the same thing. I want people to feel that same sense of excitement about that world. You know, the fictional Na'vi people and I want them to feel that excitement of discovery of a new world that they're going to see things that they haven't imagined. All that sort of the perk package of the first movie is still going to be there. And the themes will be there and be played out in a way that I think people can accept."

But he did say he's not going to stuff the environmental issues down our throat. "I'm not going to become more strident. I'm not going to say, 'well, we got away with this much environmental content in the first movie, now there's double.' Because I think that would be a mistake. It has to be entertainment first and foremost."

One can only imagine what Pandora's oceans will hold.

I'm in two minds about the sequels. I'm sure there will be some beautiful things to see, but the first one isn't worth a turd out of the cinema. The plot was utter tripe, and the characters were cardboard. I could barely get through it on DVD. I hope Cameron improves on this aspect. He's made great sequels before.

What happened to going to the other worlds in the Avatar-verse?

Here's a question about Pandora. Were they only humans on the moon located at the site being prepared for digging up unobtainium? What is all they had to do to fight back was call for another group nearby?

Can Navi breathe in the atomsphere of Earth?

Hell's Gate was the main human base.
If humans can't breath Pandora air it is logical the Navi can't breath Earth air.

I'm curious to see some members of the Navi go to Earth and the argue their case for rights there.

in the script the Nav'i werent as helpless as they were in the movie.

After the humans mow down the tree that Jake and Neytiri...the chief sends Tsu'tey to the base and using guerilla tactics they kill several humans.
Quaritch uses this to declare war on the Na'vi and get them out of the home tree

If we are, it certainly is NOT for story. It's for camera and lighting techniques, editing, dialogue, acting and entertainment.

His stories are garbage.

Too political.

I'm more curious if Jake Sully will be the main protagonist or will there be a new protagonist since this involves other moons and what not.

I had a question...

How much do you think Avatar 2 will gross? Will it reach 3 billion dollars? How about Avatar 3, how much it will gross?
