DC Television James Gunn's Suicide Squad Spinoff ‘Peacemaker’ Starring John Cena on HBO Max

Supergirl teaser likely coming in December, as with Superman?
That’s the good bet. And like with Superman, we don’t need to be looking for a WB release for it to be attached to. They were happy to put Supes on Mufasa and Sonic last time, so I’d imagine Supergirl will at least get Avatar. Hell maybe since it comes out a month earlier we shouldn’t rule out Wicked/Zootopia? 🤷‍♀️

I remember predicting we’d get one with this premiere which obviously didn’t happen, so yeah I’ll be really shocked if we don’t get one for the finale either. It will start to feel a bit overdue soon, especially with the Supergirl trailer reportedly coming within the next couple months.
I never really expected a first look to come with the premiere just because that might threaten to distract from the story at hand in the same way that putting a trailer for Supergirl in front of Superman might have done. Dropping a teaser with the finale strikes me as a similar move to dropping the Supergirl poster a week or two after Superman opened.

This episode went in a completely different direction than I expected. Ballsy move. Glad next week is a longer episode too.

Let’s hear everyone’s cameo predictions and what if anything will lead into MOT.

My cameo prediction: Amanda Waller will have a meeting with Mr. Terrific. Leading to Checkmate as the next live action series after Lanterns.

Man of Tomorrow Lead in: One of the 99 doors will lead to a Brainiac controlled earth. When Argus escapes that door way, Brainiac technology will piggy back on one of the agents transforming the agent into the so called Man of Tomorrow.

I want a Checkmate series so badly and I hope it happens.

As for cameos…

I think maybe Jimmy Olsen shows up since we’ve heard he is getting a series that explores some of the weirder DC characters. If a bunch of creatures come through these inter dimensional portals, it could lead right into that.

I don’t think we will actually SEE Brainiac in Peacemaker (as much as I would WANT to, I’m going to temper my expectations). I do think they could hint at him though. I think that the QUC alien technology is what Brainiac uses to condense cities and possibly entire planets. So we may get some insight into that.

I think we’ll see Lex again in this episode, maybe out of prison now or in a Club Med type of prison setting. Maybe working on his suit.

Waller is definitely coming back so I think she shows up.

I heard rumors about Booster Gold but I’m not sure how he would really factor into any of this yet other than for it to just tease the next thing and Gunn doesn’t seem to want to do that.

I was hoping to see Superman but Gunn seemed to imply that he’s not showing up. And maybe that is a good thing given Peacemaker’s raunchy humor. A Superman appearance could lead to kids watching the show when they probably shouldn’t yet.

Maybe Mr Terrific shows up since we had the other Justice Gang folks already. He would make a lot of sense (and if Flag wasn’t an idiot, he would have called him up to help instead of enlisting Luthor). It wouldn’t be a surprise if Terrific has to come in an mop up ARGUS’s mess.

I am just going to go into it not expecting any cameos.
But if we do get some id want something truly unexpected. Like a Question cameo.

But tbh i think theres a solid chance of Booster gold(probably Kumail unfortunately), Blue Beetle, Huntress cameoing in some way.

I bet Superman did a a scene for Peacemaker season 2. Why would David be on set of Peacemaker with his suit on. I agree a Daily Planet reporter needs to be sneaking around to see what is going on and Jimmy is the perfect guy for the job.

Supposedly Superman and Peacemaker were filming right next to each other at the same time. So it’s possible that David is in the show but he also might have just have just dropped by the set that day in between filming.

I can’t get that intro song of peacemaker season 2 out of my head. :astonish: :woozy:. Especially the part when Eagly does his two step. That song has grown on me.

I like the song too but I feel like Take Me For a Ride by Bad City would have been a better choice of the main theme this season. I just like the song better personally but also the lyrics kinda fit the show (leave the world behind). Regardless, I’m glad this show introduced me to that song and band.

The intros and sound track for Peacemaker has been a delightful surprise..

In a fairly recent interview, Gunn mentioned that Philip K. Dick's Man in the High Castle had a much greater influence on him than the Earth-X comics, so I inferred that things weren't as clear-cut as they seemed. But I was still a bit surprised that
he used Auggie, of all characters, to convey that.
I’m always interested in directors’ influences on these types of properties that are outside of the source material. Man in the High Castle makes a lot of sense in this case. I really need to finish that show. I don’t know why I haven’t gotten back to it in so long.
On the podcast, he apparently cited this as the main inspiration for season two.
The Counterlife - Wikipedia

Basically deals with a lot of the same themes. Alternate choices to try looking for a different or better alternative from the current life, things on the surface that turn out not to be what they seem or what you wanted, events playing out in a very similar way suggesting certain things are unavoidable no matter what you do, etc.
