Yeah Xitter ramps up the negativity about 20% that was why I quit it. If Jesus came back tomorrow people would troll him because of his beard and choice of shoes...

But in general genre fans are genre fans who they support won't change their attitudes. Hell give them everything they want and they will still find a way to complain about it. That is why it is best to cater to them in very superficial ways. Tell the story you want to tell the way you want to tell it and let the chips fall where they may.

Look Peacemaker S2 wasn't what I would have drawn up if I was asked...but I am glad about that as well! I liked the slow burn of some of the stories and I liked the way it played out. I am glad Gunn told the story he wanted to tell and didn't bog it down in crossover nonsense. Series like these should be there to fill out the universe, not act as a vehicle by which to shoehorn more appearances by specific characters to beef up ratings and get social media talking. Maybe it isn't "OMG DER CAMEOS DERR!!11!1" that some people want, but that is why I think it is a better series than most of the Universal Genre stuff out there.

Regarding the online discourse of people expressing disappointment at there being no huge cameo or world building, anyone who’s watched James Gunn’s filmography has been paying attention knows that he doesn’t and has never rolled that way. No matter what project he does, whether it’s a smaller project something as big as Superman, the characters always come first. Not that he’s not interested in the other stuff, it’s just not the main focus or thing driving the story.

If I could put it this way, with the MCU, the characters are there to build out the world. With the James Gunn and the DCU, the world is there to build out the characters.

Honestly, the finale felt like more of an epilogue to me. People are whining about setup, but the setup felt like a natural extension of the characters and their respective journeys.

I mean, the beginning and ending of the season literally mirror each other. The opening few minutes have Chris Smith dissatisfied with his current life and goes through another door into another dimension where his life is “better“ and can escape to it. The season closes with him being satisfied and in a great place only for him to be thrown into another dimension with no seemingly chance of escape.

Jennifer Holland and Danielle Brooks really killed it this season and Cena has definitely made this role his own. The core cast in this show is perfection and I really enjoyed the new additions this season too like Tim Meadows, Sol Rodriguez and Frank Grillo.

Her entire scene with her playing against the actress who plays Keeya and having to let her go really got me emotional and messed me up. I’ve never been in a relationship myself, but just the thought of me finding the right person and happily being in love for a time only to have to eventually end it due to circumstances? That hurts. That really hurts in a way that I’m worried I don’t think I could handle it and dread if I ever do find someone and do have to eventually separate from them. I’m much more sensitive to things and really value human connection, so I would definitely feel that a lot more. I mean, lately I’ve been reading some fanfiction with that type of premise, and that alone had me sobbing when I finished it. Can you imagine the kind of emotional wreck I would be in an actual separation or divorce?

I hope that if that moment ever comes, I have the emotional capacity and maturity to handle it well and get through it.
