DC Television James Gunn's Suicide Squad Spinoff ‘Peacemaker’ Starring John Cena on HBO Max

Have to admit, I liked the third episode better than than last two. I had one question. Did this other universe where Peacemaker is beloved-is he about as ruthless as prime Peacemaker when it comes to killing?

It's interesting and it makes me more curious to see what else this other dimension has that is different from prime Peacemaker's/DCU's earth.

Off topic but I hope to see a doppelganger Superman.

I wonder if it's Ultraman after he was sucked into that Black hole.

I'm honestly quite surprised at how much I've been enjoying this show. Between The Suicide Squad, Peacemaker, Creature Commandos and Superman, I'd say James Gunn has created a solid foundation for the DCU. Y'all know I'm usually hanging out more in the Marvel categories, but gotta give kudos where it's due. Even the continuity stuff is much less of a headache than I expected. Reusing the parts that worked allows for the DCU to establish itself much quicker.

Almost thought that was a young Mr. Handsome at first.

So, who do we think invented the QUC portal technology.

I saw someone online suggest Ted Kord and that connection could be used to give us our first canonical DCU appearance of Jaime Reyes/Blue Beetle with Xolo Mariduena returning to pkay him.

Another thing that was posited by Erik Voss in one of his Peacemaker season 2, and what I think is the more likely option, is that it could be technology created by Imps. Auggie 2 kept on bringing them up and how they explicitly have found their way into his house. It could’ve just been them coming through the QUC somehow and getting lost on Earth 2.

Another great epsiode, though more " low key" than the lost one. But I really liked the more subtle character interactions and conflicts brewing.

The showdown is gonna be explosive this season.

These short episodes are killing me. Peacemaker is a binge worthy series. Gunn has me wanting more……

I think Brainiac is connected to the different dimensions. At first i thought that maybe the doors take you to different cities that he has captured from other universes. I am intrigued.

Not a fan of this retcon, it generates more questions than it solves. Peacemaker told us his dad built the QUC, he makes him stuff, and gets mad when the anti-gravity helmet is lost because, according to him, his dad is the only person in the world who knows how to make them.

If his dad is not the evil genius he thought he was, then who makes Peacemaker's stuff? Who made the White Dragon suit?

I don't know why J.G. changed it, everybody was satisfied with the previous answer.

Because this makes way more sense?

And his dad could still make the stuff based on stolen technology. It is not that big of a retcon.

Gunn has reined himself in a bit here. Still very funny, but it isn't overdone. Meadows has not missed yet. More character work than action this season and has kinda ran around itself as far as plot goes, but the tension is definitely getting me.

Yeah, I’ve been really surprised how much more…restrained and dramatic this season has been, especially this past episode. I think Chris Smith/Peacemaker himself only cracked about one or two funny lines, and even those weren’t super overdone. John Cena’s understated acting in the scenes between his character and Adebayo is also really good. He really has improved so much and come into his own as an actor, and I can’t wait to see what he’ll do with the super dramatic and emotionally heartbreaking stuff when we get to it.

A lot of the funny material this season seems to be coming from Tim Meadows this time around, which I’m totally fine with because he’s f**king hilarious.

An interesting theory concerning Auggie’s technology that he took from the alien. Could it be a mother box from New Genesis. The Peacemaker helmets look to much like Orion’s helmet for it to be a coincidence. Gunn what are you up too old boy.

Yeah I think Screencrush was saying this too.

Yeah. I saw that as well. I just can’t see Darkseid as the big villain though. Sadly the DCEU ruined any chance of the man from Apocalypse to see the big screen anytime soon. I do think we will get the Legion of Doom though eventually.

Cold you imagine the cult if Darksied becomes the overall DCU villain……..
