It is said New LINE AND Warner. We knew already that they were behind Shazam. they are going to forget about them on the press release? No it not confirmed that they are behind ALL the warner dc for me.

Respected, the stuff is there however. and Shazam is until 2019!!! there are few movies that came sooner.

How he could not know even with the big announcement of last week? I think he's refering to one of those slates and even more that he pushed back his latest movie. It's kinda obvious they want him for the near to release date DC films if he is directing a solo film. Another thing is why putting him in a Vertigo movie that has not even a release date. I kinda thing it has to be to DC.

To conclude this I need to tell you that being an horror director first doesn't mean that the only thing you can do is horror films. Also his tone would be good for Wonder Woman's greek mythology if you ask me.

Common man... I have shown you the PRESS RELEASE!!! It says literally..

Your logic here doesn't make any sense. How does the big announcement last week have anything to do with a studio exec caring if he says Vertigo or Milestone when they all fall under DC anyway?

Why would JGL be working on Sandman, it doesn't even have a release date? Hateful 8 doesn't have a release date, why is Quintin Tarantino directing? Why would Wan be a director for a movie with no release date? Because it happens all the time and people still need to work on a movie BEFORE they announce a release date.

lol. I think you didn't get it... There are prioritys for Warner Bros and those are the PUBLISHED DC list that has release dates confirmed. yeah JGL is working also Del Toro is working in JLD but are the more important than the upcoming films from DC? No!
We have Wonder Woman, Flash, Aquaman, and the fact that his latest movie was pushed back because they want them to work on the project ASAP. I think it's almost the same scenario as David Ayer but again if they're talking about DC is because of the new plan that has been published by WB.

I really don't see the need for a Cyborg film knowing they'll use the token shell tht his his New 52 form rather than his pre-52 glory

It will probably be the Metal Men movie that was announced and then didn't go anywhere.

James Wan on a deeply mythical New 52 inspired Wonder Woman film would be ****ing awesome

^ That's what I'm talking about... Oh yeah!!!

Interesting to see that James Wan is willing to step up to the plate and try his hand at a comic-book movie. I think he probably stipulated that in his contract when he agreed to direct The Conjuring 2.

Also... New Line Cinema isn't what it was before 2008. Now it's a glorified label for WB, akin to what Summit Entertainment is for Lionsgate. WB can, and has, moved films from the main studio to New Line (like the in-development 2-part It). WB can release any or all of their DC films under NL if they wanted to, they'll still own the films.

On another note, Dune Entertainment's new deal with WB covers virtually all of WB and NL releases for several years, save for Hobbit and Harry Potter-derived films. Also, RatPac-Dune Entertainment is a silent partner, and the films they've financed with WB don't mention the company on the poster legends or have their logo. (Even though RatPac's involvement is mentioned in the films' credits and copyright notices at the end.) It's not like WB's usual pacts with Legendary and Village Roadshow where they get billing and logo placement on the posters.

Wow Mclay seriously how do you know that much of this stuff? :wow:

The Dune Entertainment moving from Fox to WB made the trade news last fall, like a few days before Gravity came out.

I know about WB's omission of Dune's involvement on the marketing materials for their 2014 titles because I work at a movie theater. All of WB's films this year so far (excluding 300: Rise of an Empire), including the NL titles and last year's Gravity and Grudge Match, were co-financed by Dune. But you'd never guess unless you saw the actual movies, save Gravity.

I don't think we'll see the RatPac-Dune Entertainment logo on any of the new DC films, that might be the part of the deal they made with WB.

It's possible that WB will announce those movies that were not in the list, in a separate announcement later. (Note that solo Superman and solo Batman movies were not announced either but we can be certain that they will be made.)

Maybe, JGL's Sandman and JL: Dark are in the development stage right now.

Neil Gaiman did say that Sandman is still development and the the reason why it wasn't on WB's DC slate is because it's a Vertigo property and he said it's a "different slate of films."

Wan will direct the filth, I'm telling you. You read it here first.

Shazam also has the Dwayne Johnson connection for James Wan.

True. I'd love to see Wan tackle a light and fun movie for a change. I know he's directing FF7, but that has the shadow of Paul Walker's death over it.

If Fast 7 isn't as good as the last two films it will be difficult to blame Wan because he had to deal with a catastrophic blow to the production when Walker died.

Man is the promotion of Fast 7 going to be super depressing. There really isn't anyway for the film to be seen as "just fun." It's a tribute movie now.

He's obsessed with horror... Judging from his older works and what he seems to go for, I really have zero guesses.

Actually, I might guess 'Dark Universe'/'Justice League Dark' if that were slated (and if I didn't want to see Guillermo del Toro do it more)... Sandman would also be a pretty cool fit potentially...

Maybe he'll do one of the Harry Potter spin-offs about that world's creatures?

Crisis On Finite DC Movieverses
THE FLASH loses a director. Will more filmmakers leave?
DEVIN FARACI said:
Sources at WB tell me that this is just one part of what's going on behind the scenes at the DC movieverse. Zack Snyder and Geoff Johns were taken aback at critical and audience reaction to Batman v Superman, I'm told, and WB execs have found themselves at odds with Snyder over his vision for Justice League and the DC movieverse going forward. Of course Justice League was scheduled to start shooting mere days after BvS was released, which meant WB couldn't take any definitive action - like removing Snyder or delaying the movie to make changes - without poisoning the box office for BvS. The result? Lots of fights between Snyder and the WB execs, and lots of pressure from Burbank on Snyder, who is shooting in London.

I'm not sure what the exact nature of the creative differences on The Flash are, but I'm being told that this may not be the only movie impacted by the aftermath of BvS. According to multiple, reliable sources James Wan is feeling a tremendous amount of trepidation about Aquaman. It's important to remember two things - Fast 7 was a very difficult process for him, even without Paul Walker's tragic death, and James Wan doesn't really need Aquaman. With The Conjuring 2 and Lights Out (which he produced), Wan will be owning WB's summer slate, bringing in a lot of money with movies that cost a fraction of Aquaman. Aquaman needs Wan, and right now Wan is trying to decide if he needs that hassle.

It will be interesting to see how things shake out. Wan has the upper hand on Aquaman, so maybe he'll be able to make that work in his favor. I keep hearing that it could be delayed in an attempt to get the film right, but who knows. Justice League is going to be Justice League, no matter how hard the studio rides Snyder. As for the rest of the slate - Suicide Squad, the weird side movie, looks like it's the hail mary pass for the DC Movieverse, at least until guaranteed winner The Batman gets here.
