Horror James Wan's "The Conjuring"

I haven't liked any of Michael Chaves' films in the series... but I liked this one. Many issues from Conjuring 3 persist, but my overall impression is much more positive.

You must hate The Shining and The Exorcist.
Exorcist i wasn’t a fan of, and plan on reading the shining, the one exception I’ve seen was midsommar. Movies like terrifier 2, were too long. That was the most recent long one that came to mind

You get me.

Also aren't most well regarded horror flicks over 90 mins? Psycho is 109m. Even Nightmare on Elm Street and OG Halloween don't technically count at 91 and 92 mins respectively.
Most people don't even remember Psycho pre-the hotel that well. :o

2 hr 15 minutes? Absolutely not. No horror needs to be more than 90

Horror is too broad a category for such a simplistic rule. For something like a slasher, yeah, you rarely need more than 90 minutes, and if you do go over, run the risk of making things worse. Something like these movies, there is enough usually beyond the scares to make a longer run time work.

Fear Street trilogy supremacy!

The conjuring main line series is good, but the spin offs have been horrible. The curse of lla llorona, Annabelle series is decent, but the nun is a dud. Sometimes you need to walk away

Cue: Prequel!
They have the actors for it. So annoyed they didn't use Taissa. She's right there!

I think there is a chance we get a sequel, but the leads are Judy and her husband running their museum. Special guest stars, the Warrens.

The nostalgia poured on at the end really hit me. Did not expect that. Watching them all back to back really showed how well this finale weaved in and tied up some loose ends. Especially around Judy and Annabelle. Which feels ripe for the future.
