Japanese Developers take Next Gen Survey

I'm not that deeply interested in a lot of games from Japan right now. The only ones I can think of at the moment is Lost Odyssey and Virtua Fighter 5 (and maybe to a lesser extent, DMC4). Face it, the European and American developers right now collectively pwn anything Japan can come up with. And that's a fact.

Meh. Not exactly a scientific survey, and looking at the games coming out of japan and for what consoles, not really representative of anyone important either.

Really? Then why did both of those games got pwned at E3 2006 by the likes of Bioshock, Mass Effect, Assassin's Creed, Spore and Crysis? You know, in all those "Best of Show" awards...

Artistically and Conceptually speaking alone, Mass Effect, Bioshock, Spore and Assassin's Creed wipe the floor with just about every game being worked on by Japanese Developers right now (the only ones that even come close are Blue Dragon and Lost Odyssey and they are on the 360) while don't even get me started in the technical arena - Gears of War, Alan Wake, Crysis show them squinty-eyed asians who to crank out real eye-candy.

I believe it was THWIP who already said that MS would NEVER conquer Japan in the thread in which DRT posted another survey that the next-gen console Japanese gamers were most interested in post-TGS was the 360 (Lost Odyssey/Blue Dragon effect?).
