Maybe Logan is mixing and matching all of his costumes to form an awesome Garney hybrid.

I guess. And, now that I've searched for pics some more, I found that the strips have been all but completely phased out since the new costume's creation. I kind of liked them, though. It distinguished his current costume from his old yellow and blue costume more. But, like Iron Man's armors, it's a minor quibble.

I liked that Guggenheim made the strips have an actual use.

What did they do?

One glove's strips were used as a sort of beeper/pager in the event that the X-Men needed to contact him, and the other glove's strips were for the New Avengers.

They would either flash with an "X" symbol or the Avengers' "A" symbol.
