Likely a bit of both. I think I read filming begins in about 2 weeks so they were going to have to make the announcement sooner or later and really, I'm also sure THR dropped this news a very long time ago.

They didn't.
DC/WB can announce casting whenever they want, but it seems they needed another talking point in the mix after their Friday news dump got mostly negative reactions.

Exactly. It's my pet peeve that in 2024 we're still giving clicks and credibility to people/sites that 'report' things like they're actual journalists with information when they're guessing just like anyone else on the internet.

That or his own film....he will most likely be a fan favorite.
I know supergirl will be ( mostly) family friendly with a PG 13 rating, but a Lobo film, like deadpool, needs to be an R.

Set it off world and let him do his thing, drinking, smoking, partying, and going after superpowered bounties.

Yeah, with as enthusiastic as Momoa seems about the prospect of playing Lobo, there’s no way it’s limited to a potentially minor role in Supergirl. There has to be some manner of a solo project in the works.
