Jeff Bezos is the richest person in history

You have to get the name right.

Bezos/Amazon/Wapo

A certain someone will be tweeting about this "Fake News" soon enough.

If that certain someone tweets about this being "Fake News", it may one of the very few times a statement of his might stand up to scrutiny though. Arguably, the CNN headline is incorrect.... adjusted in today's value, there are many who've had greater wealth throughout history: for example, just in the US, there's Rockefeller and Carnegie (+$300B). Augustus Caesar has been estimated to have been worth $4.6 Trillion (yes, with a Tr!); meanwhile, the wealth of Mansa Musa of Timbuktu back in the early 14th century can't be estimated, but is agreed to be far beyond experts' estimates of Augustus Caesar's.
In current times, it is believed Putin's wealth is more than Bezos' brief dalliance at the $106B mark... .

Yeah I was about to say, what about Rockefeller?

Bezos has certainly gotten quite a bit of my money over the years. :p

Fun Fact

He’s given 1/10th of 1% of his wealth to charity.

She is soon to be around the 4th or 5th richest person.

His wife deserves her half. Bezos created Amazon with her support, something he likely wouldn't have been able to do without. I hate people who think she doesn't deserve her share.

Why? He worked hard for all cash and wealth. No one has a right to his wealth just as he doesn’t have a right to someone else’s wealth. He doesn’t owe anyone any cent. The system works because he employs all of those people, many of whom had no job before and are now earning based on his employment and company. Forget the fact that many of them are overworked, stressed and suffering from increasing health problems. Forget that he could donate vast sums of wealth like even up to 20-30% which would be what like $25-30 billion which could have such an immense impact on global problems such as hunger, lack of education, pollution/climate change, enabling the needy to become self sufficient ala microcredit schemes, and infectious disease, etc. He has no obligation to do any of this.

What is a cheque?

Its a form of written payment between bank transfer of two people and when the account paying the other person doesn't have enough money in it to cover the payment, it is said to 'bounce'.

Mackenzie Bezos did support Jeff throughout the years with Amazon and has actually worked for the company. She could have left him early on or dissuaded him from he and her both leaving their jobs to move to Seattle start a business but she didn't.

No one has a right to his wealth just as he doesn’t have a right to someone else’s wealth.

Well said!

It's spelled check.:o

There’s enough wealth here for 2 entries on the World’s Rich lists, plus Amazon is going to keep growing like crazy I think. I don’t think anyone is going be struggling to pay their bills for a while.

All these visionary billionaires and not one functional Iron Man suit.
Once you get to your first $100B, it becomes an obligation to the human race. The Bezos’ will have to contribute one each and then fight it out in their suits to determine who gets what in the settlement.
