Did anyone watch this saturday night on BBCONE???

I did, thought it was ok, could make some decent Saturday night telly for a change.

It p*ssed all over the book, but thats not really the direction its aiming for, which I can accept.

All the credit goes to the main actor though (can't remember the name). He was excellent in the majority, although I'd tone down the American style cheese (impersonating a quiz host for example) and cut to scathing, dry comments instead. Very impressed overall with him.

Next week looks like a great gothic lock-in. Good stuff.

I quite enjoyed it really.

I thought James Nesbitt was excellent as both Jackman and Hyde, although Hyde was very Joker-like at times, I thought Nesbitt did well with it.

Yeah, they did piss all over the book, but as you say that's not what they were going for. Which is fine to me.

It's not often you get good saturday night tv. Usually some kind of variety show crap, X-Factor, Dancing On Ice, the Joesph thing (whatever that was called). The BBC is bringing good tv back for a change. I think this series could be really good, the potential is there.

Plus, Mark Gatiss is in it later on as Robert Louis Stevenson, which should be interesting.

I liked it, didn't think I would but good show.

The guy who played Jekyll was good I mean his changing to Hyde was cool.

Thought about giving this show a chance. Sounds like I should.

What's this about? I may add it to my ever-growing list of British shows to watch...

A spin on the classic Jekyll and Hide tale, set in modern times. Looks like the story may be leading up to the main character being related somehow to the "real" Dr Jekyll who was the inspiration for the book, but how we don't know. Also why an American corporation are so interested or know so much about him is yet to be answered...

Now I'm getting interested too. Dammit, don't I waste enough of my life watching television? :p

Jeklly stars James Nesbitt (Murphy's Law, Cold Feet, those Yellow pages adverts), Michelle Ryan ( Eastenders, The Bionic Woman) and is written be Steven Moffat of Doctor Who fame (The Empty Child, The Doctor Dances, The Girl In The Fireplace, Blink)

Jekyll is a BBC television drama serial. The story draws parallels to Robert Louis Stevenson's novel The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde, but is not based on the novel, although the book features as a plot point. The story is updated to a modern setting with Jekyll using contemporary technology to try and keep Hyde dormant and protect his family from the darker side of his personality. Little is Jekyll aware that he is being monitored by a secret society and that he and Hyde are part of a terrifying centuries-old plot.

Are you guys from the UK cause I don't think this has premired yet on BBCA.

Anyone watch this week's ep? I thought it was great stuff, the main actor shone even more this week as Jackman, the scene in the hospital was excellent with his gentleness but frustration really showing through.

My only worry is that it seems to be going too fast, the next (third) episode looks like a series finale.

I've watched the first half of the first episode. Pretty good so far. The first three minutes had me hooked. It was a great teaser. Won't be sure about it though until I finish watching it.

After watching the first episode, I like it. And I'll be checking out the next few. My only real problem with it is that most of the stuff that happened in episode 1 I wish had happened in episode 2 or even 3.

I think they should have kept some of the mystery going for at least another episode and devoted this first episode to the 'arrangement'. I would have liked to have seen more of they're normal routine with a few hiccups. Then, when everything starts breaking down in the second episode (instead of the first) it would have been more of a shock because it would have also broken our 'routine' of how an episode should go.

Watched the second episode today. Some great twists. And I'm glad to see the arrangement is still in place. But I still think the show is moving too fast (unless this is only going to be a six episode series or something).

The third episode was excellent again. This really is turning into a class show. It grows every week. Gripping stuff. Next week looks pretty decent, almost like a prequel.

its one of the best shows i've seen in a while, nesbitt is bloody brilliant

"Lois Lane with half a brain."

Classic.

Some of the lines were brilliant in that scene. Some fell flat on their face, but most ruled.

When he sliced the
american
, I just thought, you legend.

This show is ace, hope theres another series. What a lucky bastard Jackman is, having a gorgous wife like that and a sexy assistent in the bionic woman too!!
