I can't be the only one who feels he will have the Doomsday version (animated movie) Lex similarity.

Doomsday version was good, but he was also a bit older than Jesse. At least in his mid 40's as he was voiced by James Marsters.

If lex was speaking to a crowd, he was using a very soft spoken voice to do so. It sounds to me much more like him having an intimate conversation with someone.

Or possibly being interviewed. Imagine if he's saying that line to Clark. That would be interesting.

Hoping Lex is portrayed as the genius he is from the comics. Hope at least on par with Tony Stark intelligence wise, if not better.

How surprising, the people that didn't like it to begin with don't like it now - almost like they had their minds made up before they had seen the movie.

Or, maybe, one line from a trailer and a single black and white picture aren't enough to alleviate their fears.

I really like his look, but not sold on his voice. Ima wait and see.

Actually I like Lex will look & sound beta compared to ultimate alpha male Superman.

He can be a character we would love to hate unlike Joker, Zod, Darkseid etc. Kinda like Joffrey from GoT.

The Lex I want will inspire a "Luthor Was Right" meme in that he genuinely believes that Superman is humanity's crutch and hampers progress just by being there.

I'm not worried about Jesse at all. He doesn't look or sound like a traditional Lex or a traditional villain in general, but I don't see it as a problem. It would work to his advantage to have an unassuming look and Lex's appearance has never been the main source of anything fearsome in him. He's someone who is only terrifying if you really get a glimpse of the workings of his mind and by the time that happens, you may already be exactly where he wants you.

I hope Jesse can do something that can convince the masses. I myself can already see what he brings to the role and how such a casting and portrayal could work. But I can also admit, it may not be for everyone.

i'll be honest here, i'm not too worried about mr. Eisenberg playing 'luthor'.

As for any of the 'cinema' luthors, i all hated their guts. I really did, i never seen a single actor that did luthor justice. It all seemed so flat, so simple, and so 'fake'.

Trying to hard to be a 'caricature' instead of really being a dark but brilliant soul. Even if that was due to the writing, it still was super weak. All has been laughable and i haven't taken one serious ever.

Come to think of it, and please don't think of me that im some sort of nolan addict, but, Heath Ledger's performance of the joker was more like how i'd imagine a real lex luthor would have to be. Menacing, smart and unpredictable.

If Jesse is able to catch that quality without the 'crazy' then we have a gold opportunity here. It might play in their hands that he didn't read or like comic books, as it means he wasn't influenced.

I for one have not been 'let down' by the supposed luthor face that's roaming around. Admitted, i think his appearence could use a bit physically more stronger look. I'd like to think of luthor to be phisically scaring aswell. No bane or hulk muscle, but some strenght in his looks. A stronger jawline, chest and shoulders would be enough.

Either way, i'm intrigued to learn more about him. I think it's one of the more surprising casting but one that could work very well.

Supposed? That head shot is offical from Entertainment Weekly.

i say supposed because i couldn't 1.2.3. discover whether it really was official or not, so instead of writing official and learning it wasn't i'd write supposed.

but indeed, it's that picture. I'd rather have seen him in a suit with a bit thicker neck and a rather more evil look. his left eye [ from this view ] looks more angry then the right, could have used both the same,
but that's pure nitpicking.

this is what i'm getting at.

jesse gives me, untill now, a tiny bit of smallville-luthor look to me [i hated smallville].

I don't think Bryan Cranston would have been a better choice though.
Matter of fact, again, i'm not at all depressed by Jesse as the 'chosen one'.

what i'm saying is, i like his look, but i would have preffered a bit more muscle

Well in the reveal pic I really like that he had "two sides of the coin" as Snyder said. It's not that he didn't full the all evil look, it's just he has two sides (his personal one and the one from the public) and that's why I loved that first pic.

Can't wait to see more of him in this.

Remember those rumors that said Lex would be sporting dirty blonde, loose/wavy hair? Even after the official pic we got of him, do you guys think he will still have that rumored blond hair and eventually go bald or will he be bald from the get go?

Gah I hope not. Just have him bald from the get go. No need to talk about it!
