I love the cheeky Marvel references the animators and writers used to put into the Justice League.

Look at Lex's robot's face. Look familiar? It's Ultron haha.

Also they made that Defenders episode with Hulk/Grundy, Namor/Aquaman, Dr. Strange/Dr Fate.

See... He's very good at playing intense characters with lots of intellectual capacity and a verbose manner of expression. I think some are hung up that he's not physically what we expect of a "super villain". And I think some just feel his voice lacks menace or is inappropriate for Lex. That's understandable, but to my mind, did I think that the Joker sounded the same as Jack or Heath did? I am hoping the power suit rumors are false and that Jesse as Lex is a force to reckon with due to his intellectual heft (like, I seriously hope he's this AMAZINGLY intelligent character, total fantasy level genius) and the challenge that he philosophically poses to Superman.

This is also why I like using Batman in the film. Both he and Lex show the potential of the human race. One is destined to be his greatest enemy, the other his staunchest ally in his never ending battle. It dovetails nicely.

I agree. I didn't know what to think of American Ultra, but I really enjoyed the trailer.

Errrr...did I read the same interview you did? I got nothing from his answers that indicate "Bond Villain" or that gets me more optimistic about his Lex Luthor. Unless his Lex doesn't watch movies, goes to see plays, and likes to bowl...

Eisenberg talks Lex Luthor

“The expectations that I have are never the same expectations that an audience has,” Eisenberg said. “I don’t have expectations for myself to adhere to a comic book character, but a lot of people are interested in how I would coincide with the comic book character. But it couldn’t be farther from my mind, because I’m just playing a role.”

A role that, by the way, Eisenberg loves. “It’s a really great character that’s written by this guy, Chris Terrio, he’s a phenomenal writer… He loves my character in the same way I love my character. He put a lot of work into it. It’s a great character, there’s an emotional core to the character. It’s not this silly, villainous character.”

“This is a real depiction of a person who thinks these things. So the challenge is to make it seem real,” he added.
