BvS Jesse Eisenberg IS Lex Luthor - Part 8

I for one would love to see the kryptonite battlesuit on the big screen. I don't necessarily NEED to see it... but I have no doubt Snyder could make it look ****ing awesome after seeing what he did with Batman's armored suit and Zod's armor in MOS.

Speaking of which... does anyone know if Batman's armor is real or all CGI like Zod's was?

Considering the agility and speed that will be required of Affleck/stuntfleck to perform, I'd bet on CGI.

Well yeah, I'm sure that CGI will be used in action shots. But I'm wondering if a practical suit was built for the scenes where he's just standing there.

Oh, that. Who knows? From what I gathered Shannon never had a practical suit and he stood still in many scenes. He actually hoped for practical suit, as he didn't want "to look like an idiot in pajamas". :woot:

I'd believe that. Also, I'd think a practical suit would let the actor get into character much easier and have something to play off of...and would give the vfx guys something to match to in post for the CGI suit.

It seems WB has a certain directive when it comes to their DC villains moving forward.

Be as divisive as possible.

If scrawny, motor-mouthed Lex Luthor doesn't grab you, try our tattoo'ed gangbanger Joker :funny:.

I've posted this a few times since we heard Jesse was cast, but I guess now with the "Battlesuit in BvS" rumor...but don't judge, it was before we knew he'd be bald!

:hehe:

Power suit for one scene, just to have Lex beat both... then walk away would be cool

Lex: An alien and another vigilante who identifies with bats.

Batman walks towards Lex. He throws a punch and Lex grabs his hand, partially crushing it. Then he throws his body to the side.

Lex: Your technology is a little behind. Send your suit to Lexcorp, we can upgrade it for you.

Superman: Lex, you tell the world your intentions are to protect everyone. Did you ever stop to think... who is protecting the world from people like YOU?

Lex turns around with an angry look on his face. He runs towards Superman. Superman flies towards him at full speed. Both of them collide. Lex remains standing, while Superman is lying on the ground. Lex looks down on him from his power suit.

Lex: I could finish you. Both of you... right now in this moment. I'll show you some mercy this time. and... only this time.

Lex leaves his power suit, place it on self destruct. He is then picked up by one of his henchman in a helicopter. Batman and Superman lay stunned and physically hurt, all they can do is look up... as a giant explosion from the suit happens.

Lex: This time, I'll be the one looking down on you.

:D

LOL, it's true. But at this point, these two are only really divisive in terms of looks or maybe age in Eisenberg's case, since Lex has at times been depicted as scrawny. That's the funny thing about this. I saw one guy calling Leto the "Gerard Way Joker" because of the tattoos. I know the "damaged" tattoo seems silly (though if we are really going to look deeply into why a fictional character got a face tattoo, I'd wager that the Joker did that as a joke) but I don't know that a few tattoos makes the Joker a bad singer in a horrible emo band. And yes, I know Leto is the frontman for 30 Seconds to Mars, but I highly doubt Suicide Squad is a musical. He won't sing in the movie. It all really boils down to the performance and if he's great in the role, it would be a real shame if people write him off simply because they don't like a few tattoos.

My Lex Luthor version, I like it!

that's what i'm guessing

a tease of the mech suit in Luthor's lab or something

i would concider him building a mech suit and seeing batman get owned [ in some odd alternate impossible dimension offcourse ] bringing him to the conclusion he'll addapt it instead of stepping in himself to be re-engineered into metallo

either way, i really don't want no luthor in a mech suit, and even less in this movie. there's already bats in a mechsuit, 2's a crowd.

I have no doubt that Eisenberg's Lex Luthor will be the best version. Well, hopefully!

To anyone who says that Eisenberg doesn't look physically intimidating as Lex Luthor, or his voice isn't deep/commanding enough, I have to ask: what are your thoughts on Michael Rosenbaum's Luthor? Because I feel those same criticisms could be leveled at Rosenbaum, and yet he absolutely knocked it out of the park with his performance.

totally agree... it is funny that rosenbaum was the best Lex yet and even better than Kevin Spacey!? And judging by the pics, Jesse is the scariest one!

Well, Rosenbaum had a presence and a charisma that I just don't get from Jesse. Unless Jesse completely changes his usual persona that leaks into every role he plays, I just don't see it working for me. I sure hope I'm wrong though.

You were able to judge this because you saw him play Lex. How would you get it from Jesse when we haven't seen him in the role yet?

I think he is own the role as modern, smart, scary character.
