Sniffed he11. Sounds like they ate the whole damn crate.

He's been sniffing a lot of stuff. New "American Ultra" poster.

I wonder what that painting is in the back.. if anything

Considering how he looks I really doubt that would be his office. The two can't be more apart from each other.

I am not fan of the hair/wig nor the way he dresses, but I'll survive it.

Okay...crazy theory here but...what if that's Wayne Manor?

Probably some William Blake painting of Paradise Lost or something similar. I can imagine there being many subtle references to Satan being cast out from Heaven and whatnot.

That is not Blake.

he basically looks like jesse Eisenberg playing a social media era version of Lex Luthor.

Okay. I wasn't exactly pretending to be a devotee or a connoisseur of the arts.

It's just, I am quite familiar with his paintings and it doesn't look like him to me.

But something that serves as a subtle reference like you mentioned is quite possible.

I hope Jesse ends up being brilliant but I still don't feel great about his casting. The wig and wardrobe are meh upon first look as well. I'm worried about the type of Luthor we're getting here.......BUT I'm hoping it turns out fine.

Nothing like some good old fashioned juxtaposition to hammer a point home. :cwink:

Oddly enough, I don't mind either. The wig, I think, is supposed to look bad, and I find his style of dress strangely charming.

It's clear that they're going for something very specific. I'm sure the core elements of Luthor will be there. As long as everyone can get over their preconceived notions of what his appearance should be, then I bet he'll be praised for his performance.

It's not a Blake painting, but I do think it is that kind of subject matter. The multi-part frame evokes icons and other religious art used to decorate predella at the bottom of altar pieces. The style itself looks a bit like Hieronymus Bosch.

If it's the descent to hell, that's a little on the nose.

Heh, it's not impossible I guess.

For some reason I keep seeing a character from the 1970's. But it is oddly charming, as a matter of fact.

Michael Wilkinson chooses the costumes and clothes of all the leading cast members. So if you don't like it blame him.:sly:

Well, he's just going with the style Snyder wants. We'll have to see how this look fits the characterisation and if it ultimately works.
