My thoughts on this pic after looking at it closely:

While the hair looks a little silly, it doesn't bother me per se, but I hope it doesn't vanish in some overwrought baldening scene.

If he's in his office or something, he's got some classy and expensive taste, which I'd imagine a young billionaire would have. They haven't made him look like an old man and that makes sense.

A truly villainous performance from this Lex will overrule any visual misgivings from me anyways. He doesn't look like a classic Lex here, but that might be great depending on context.

I suspect that the character is already bald at the start of the film. They wouldn't go with such a bad wig if the aim was to have movie audiences accept it as the real thing.

If he's appealing to young buyers, as head of a tech company, it could just be to make him look younger and hipper. CEOs usually want to look virile and vital. Makes the company seem like it's in good hands.

I don't think it's necessary to explain the medical reason behind his baldness. Plenty of men suffer from the condition.

Seriously, I think there is going to be some of the humor of Hackman's Lex in this and the hair may serve that purpose. It may also serve as a marker of things. At the end of the film Lex has finally (or so he thinks) gone beyond vanity and as a fully formed super villain embraces a truly don't give a hell attitude, even if the truth is he's still as crippled as ever by his jealousy, envy and arrogance. Because let's be honest... All of Lex's talk of Superman being a threat to human potential is BS. It's the rationalization that he tells himself. It's really in the end all about Lex.

Or dare I say...maybe Zryson was right and Superman is weak to thrown wigs.

Honestly, I really hope they avoid having his hair used for "Ha Ha! It's a wig!" moments. Hackman and Spacey did that, and it always comes off as more of a "See? This guy may be dangerous, but he's also got pathetic vanity!"

I'd probably prefer it to be his real hair, worn in such a casual style, then have him shave it off or something. Heck, I'd be satisfied with something like "Dang it, the kryptonite I created/procured gave me cancer. Shave my head. I don't do half-measures."

If that was the case, why would they not have just kept the long hair he had when they began filming? Also, while I'm not that well versed when it comes to wigs, I'd imagine it'd be difficult to do a shaving scene with a wig.

I assume it's supposed to be a wig in the movie, especially since it so obviously one. This isn't a low budget film. If it was meant to be his real hair, it would look a lot more like real hair.
