I never really understood the sudden popularity of comedian Dane Cook even though I realize millions of people idolize him so I must be missing something on my end. What I do understand, to quite a strong degree, is the popularity of a one Jessica Alba. So it would look like the upcoming comedy GOOD LUCK CHUCK, which will star Cook and Alba, will have a little something for everyone. The film will star Cook as a guy (Chuck perhaps?) who has a reputation of having his ex-girlfriends rebound directly into their soulmate. Such news prompts many women to come out of the woodwork to date him, just so they can next meet the man of their dreams. Problems arise (and don't they always) when he meets the girl of his dreams in Alba and wants to end the streak. Mark Helfrich, Brett Ratner's go-to editor, will make his feature directorial debut with the project (Helfrich had also previously worked with Alban on HONEY). Alba is currently filming another indie comedy, BILL with Aaron Eckhart, and Cook can be seen next alongside Jessica Simpson in EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH.

I'll watch it for Dane only.

UPDATE 2: Just wrapped production on my 2nd leading role in a movie, Mr. Brooks. Doing some ADR (that is when you go in and re-record some lines in the movie that may not have sounded good) on Employee of the Month as we finish that up. So what is next? Besides stand-up. My next film, which starts shooting in July UP IN VANCOUVER and MONTREAL, is with Jessica Alba. She is a great person and owned the mtv movie awards. This is a role where you get to see her in a whole new light. Girl is damn funny!
