like what jerry Seinfeld said, it was one of the depressing documentary nominated movies. So i was wondering if anyone has seen it and what did you think of it???

What made it scary?!!!

A bunch of kids are inducted into a Jesus Cult basically. The runner of the camp want Jesus to have an army like Islam. She is Freaking NUTS!

holy ****, i just watched the trialer, thats freaky!

It also has that wacko Ted Haggard in it to, right?

It was hard to watch at times.
My friends and I were just stifling the "WHAT THE F...?!?"'s.
Like when the gigantic, obese teacher talked smack about lazy, overweight people.

But yes, the fact that that smug, self-righteous, "superior" maniacal ass**** turned out to be paying to suck another man's **** while on Meth was....one of the greatest revelations of all time.

I just wish...you know that church was so big that they must've video taped the services.
I wish someone would go through and compile all the stuff he's said about homosexuals over the years.
That would Rock.

Saw this. Creepy stuff. I knew Christianity and other forms of religion were pretty batty, but this is beyond that. This is scarier than anything. All of those people should be arrested for child abuse, because they are stifling the child's ability to form their own thoughts. They are also guilty of brainwashing the kids.

Never seen it...I saw the adds though. A lot of the people in my church (myself included) think it's freaky looking.

I haven't seen it, but I do want kind of want to. As a Christian, and a very firm believer in God, I'm extremely freaked out by the far right wackos who take their faith a bit too far. People don't know their limits it seems.

If God does exist, and I truly believe he does, these freaks who think they are doing his word when they create cults and kill and discriminate are going to have a lot of explaining to do when they meet the man in person.

Personally, despite being a Christian, I am starting to have a lot of mixed connotations towards organized religion thanks to this movie as well as all the violence caused by it. I sometimes wonder if God himself has negative feelings towards it.

More than likely. Jesus wasn't exactly popular among the far right extremists of his time. He forgave them, but didn't mean he had to like them or how they were. (infact, he showed anger towards them)

It's just too bad that extremists are more vocal than the majority of Christians...it's no wonder so many have such distorted views of Christians with people like these claiming to be Christian.

But more importantly, I feel kind of sorry for the people in the video. These seem to be people lead by someone who doesn't teach to examine, question and learn everything, which just isn't how christianity is. In true christianity we are taught to examine, question and learn. You can't grow without those no matter how much faith you have. And if you ever see a church that teaches opposite to that...GET OUT! :)

I 100 % agree with you. Between people like this and guys like Pat Robertson, Fred Phelps, and Jerry Falwell, I'm almost ashamed to claim Christianity as my religion at times. I've gotten to a point where I view it more as my lifestyle than my religion. As a religon, it's grown into something that's been distorted and wrongfully criticized thanks to a few far right extremist hypocrites. I hate it when extremists refer to homosexuals as a mistake then turn around and say "God doesn't mistakes". It's awful when people criticize people who do wrong when they themselves are doing wrong. God told us to hate the sin, not the sinner. I think a lot of people forget that.

I actually have a friend whose beliefs are not too far removed from the people I'm talking about. He never questions anything, he never takes the time to examine or questions which stories in The Bible are real and what are just there as examples or to give lessons. (I've never read The Bible the whole way through, but I have good knowledge of the stories and have opinion on which are real and which are unreal). I am a bit different. I have very far left views on a lot of social issues concerining religion (gay marriage, abortion), and he always criticizes me. I always tell him that Jesus wanted us to be accepting to all God's creations and let the The Man Himself judge us all when the time comes. And he fires back with "Well, he didn't want us to tolerate ever little thing".

Frightening the way people think these days.

I saw this movie Saturday night. It was insane. I think the even-handed way it was handled further illustrated how crazy these people are. They didn't have to slant it at all to make the people look crazy.
