Silver Surfer #2

Unlike JH, I'm really enjoying this title. A good Silver Surfer story is never about straight out action and adventure; it's more about Norrin coming to terms with himself or those around him. I love Pak's move of turning Norrin human again; as, he really seems to understand this character well. Sure, it may not be for everyone; but, I think the die-hard Surfer fans would be pleased.

I thought the first issue was alright, though not great, but with the exception of the very ending, I hated that second issue... and the art only made it worse. I thought Norrin Radd looked horribly feminine or something.

Ultimate Doom #4

Holy crap! What a steaming pile of manure is this conclusion to Bendis' three-mini event. Only the word "disappointing" can sum up how I felt reading this final issue; and, even the big scene between Sue and Ben declaring their love for each other lacked any real emotion.

Yeah, I've not given a crap about the Ultimate Universe since about 3 or 4 years into it but Sue and Ben being together is Sauce!!!

Oh... and having refigured my buying I'm going to swing by the comicshop tomorrow after the kids's dance class and pick up FF #1 (if it's still in stock) and Daredevil Reborn #3.

I will be stunned if FF #1 isn't still in stock. I imagine most shops would have over ordered it to some degree, much as they have with some of the reprints of "Three". If not, and it still has a high selling tally, that could bode really well for the Four.

I didn't think the issue was flawless, but I did enjoy it. It really is another issue of the Four, and follows along where #588 left off. Spider-Man feels like a very organic new cog, because he's had years of prior stories in which he was attached to them, same as Alex Power and Leech.

When was Leech in connection to the FF prior to Hickman's run? Heck... even Alex Powers. He had more connection to the X-Men and New Warriors than the FF.

And I did get the comics and read them. I just lost internet for a while due to my new neighbors (in my duplex) apparently trying to steal cable and internet from us with a splitter and getting it all turned off as a result. Fortunately it's all fixed and I'm pretty sure I can't trust them as far as I can throw them.

Anyhow, I did get and read FF #1 and I did enjoy it. I'll be getting the second issue and I may even begin buying backwards at least to the beginning of Hickman's run. What issue did he start on?

I also got Daredevil Reborn 3 and I liked it better than the first two issues but not by much. Eager for Waid to start.

He started on issue 570, and Dark Reign: Fantastic Four is kind of like a pseudo-prolouge.

Artie and Leech befriended Franklin back when both were staying with GENERATION X, run by Emma Frost and Sean Cassidy. They befriended Franklin during the HEROES REBORN era when he was mourning the loss of his parents to Onslaught. They also may have met during the Morlock Massacre era, when Franklin was a member of Power Pack as "Tattletale".

Alex Power, in addition to being bright, was also the eldest member of Power Pack, a team Franklin used to be a member of. In the 80's, the Richards and Power families were quite chummy. It was just a dynamic that was allowed to whither and die in the 90's, so it seems jarring now.

Plus Artie, Leech, and Franklin had an awesome adventure together with Howard the Duck and Man Thing in Daydreamers.

I loved that mini.

OHHH!!!! Okay, yeah. When you mentioned FF connections I wasn't thinking about Franklin. But yeah, that makes sense now.
