Jim Lee and Dan Didio named Co-Publishers of DC!

It's like a black hole of character f***wittage. I was fine with it when it was just Wolverine and some other stabby goons killing s*** 'cause that's what Wolverine does. Then I learned Wolfsbane was on the team killing b****es right alongside the rest of them. Then I learned Cyclops sanctioned them, which bugged me but I got over it. Then I learned Archangel magically regained his metal wings and was remorselessly stabbing b****es alongside X-Force while pretending to still be a hero on the main X-Men team.

Every time I think I'm done losing once-heroic characters to X-Force's moral reprehensibility, they snatch another one that I liked. I'm just waiting for Beast to do a 180 and decide that he should live up to his name by ripping people's throats out on X-Force at this point. :csad:

"Stabby Stabby stab stab gurrrrr Bub"

There, just saved you $3 dollars now you don't have to buy X-Force

I think we need a few more Wolverine series.

One highlights his birth (in a twelve volume set)
One highlights his teen years
One highlights his early adulthood
One will have him crossover from Marvel to DC in a space warp.

Also, we need more Deadpool.
Deadpool the Man
Deadpool the Series
Deadpool the Hero

Honestly, I think the idea of Deadpool Corps is pretty cool. But along with Deadpool and Headpool, I would have Ultimate Deadpool being the butt of jokes, Apepool, Deadpool Noir, and of course Lady Deadpool.

I'm glad i'm not the only one who thinks the Knaufs' Ironman was way better than Fraction's. I mean i like fraction's run so far but the Knaufs were kicking SO MUCH ASS on that book before him. Oh well. They're the reason i read ironman on a consistent basis now.

But yeah, mainstream marvel is starting to bore me too. X-men is a mess, spiderman is a mess, the hulk books have been horrible ever since Planet Hulk, the only books i really read are Thor, Ironman, Cap and Daredevil. Those books are usually pretty consistent with quality.
I agree with the Knaufs statement. I'm not even a fan of IM and yet I looked forward to every issue. I ended up dropping Fraction's run after 3 issues.

I disagree with the Marvel comment though. Save for omd, spiderman has been phenominal, any hulk book not written by loeb is thrilling, and Marvel has some cool cosmic stories.

Well, what i meant by "mess" for spiderman was that literally the book feels like a jumble of different creators every month and therefore the quality fluctuates greatly on the book every month. There's no consistency with the book. Its feels like its a different vision every month for the character.

As for Hulk, yea i guess Greg Pak's doing a decent job, but i dont see where all this "world war hulks" thing is going, especially since theres a lot of threads to pick up from " Planet Hulk" and "world war Hulk".

Loeb's Hulk is so bad that I dropped The Incredible Hulk, which was all right, the moment I heard it would be crossing over with Loeb's stuff. I absolutely refuse to give Marvel a single red cent for comics as bad as what Loeb's putting out. Yeah, I know my not buying it doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things, but it at least puts my mind at ease that I'm not contributing to the financial success of terrible comics.

You consider them mainstream? I think they're moving in that direction--War of Kings pulling in X-characters and the Eternals seems like proof of that--but I wouldn't necessarily call them mainstream just yet. I don't really think of them as being in the same league as the FF or the Avengers or the X-Men.

I think anything that sells in the Top 100 should be considered mainstream.

I'm not even getting into a discussion about what's "mainstream" A good book is a good book. I don't care, or give much thought to, much else.

While I agree ASM was a bit disjointed early on, the past 6-9 months, I feel every issue has been very well integrated which each other. While I would still like the art to get better, they have managed to get 2-4 very similar artists on the book together so there's a consistent tone to the book.

Actually, Pak pretty well explained where his story is going. Where Planet Hulk was a dissection of The Hulk - highlighting everything that character is about - his current stories are a introspective on Bruce Banner - going a long way to define what a good character he is even without even needing the Hulk. The whole story that builds around that is merely to tie Bruce's element - intellect, etc.

That's what the Fall of the Hulks story is about, at least. No one really sees where World War Hulks is going...because no one knows anything about it yet. Give it some time.

The problem is, everyone always gets wrapped up in the hype of a crossover. Either, they're for it, and buy EVERY SINGLE issue, or they're against it, and become bitter over everything.

Here's the simple fact; there's always going to be some ****-awful comic floating around out there in the mainstream continuity. Obviously, they're to be avoided at all costs, but I would never avoid good books just because they have been forced to associate at times with the bad ones.

They should have Jean come back as the Dark Phoenix and then Cyclops puts her on X-Force and starts sending her on black-ops planet-genociding missions.

Whenever anyone *****es he just goes like "The Greater Good" and then they're like "uh but Cyclops it's genoci-" "THE GREATER GOOD"
