Hahahahahahaha, wow, that totally went over your head, didn't it.

As for Aquaman, ask any Aquaman fan (do they still make those:huh: ) and he/she will tell you: he is one of the most inconsistent characters in the DCU. He's gone from a relatively fast swimmer who can talk to fish, to an underwater Superman, to a magic based character and now an undersea Conan.

Actually, that's a bit incorrect. Since he was created he had the super strength and such, not just the fast speed and fish telepathy.

Just as we all know, the 60s wasn't necessarily the best times for some heroes. Some things were and some weren't...like everyone thinking Batman and Robin were gay with each other kind of stuff.

Which teams are talking about here? And by theat I mean which members?

Morrison's roster is by far the greatest. They're the modern Pantheon of gods. Waid's later roster is okay, although Orion could have done more.

The Golden age, silver age alternate earths gobbledygoop from DC is Amzingly confusing it also dilutes some of thier greats a hero should be a one of a kind. flash, kid flash, the various earth green lanterns, superboy, supergirl aqualad etc dilute the original source characters.

That's one view. Another is that all of the characters who each put their own spin on an established superhero archetype actually enrich the archetype, the comic, and the landscape of the DC universe in general.

So you would be happy with another person taking on the mantle of the Batman other then Bruce Wayne? that is a terrible thought IMO.

I would be. Everything in comics is fair game and potentially could be made into a good story. The problem is, you have to stick to it. Captain America's death, for example, we know will not stick...they will bring him back. Which is why his death was so stupid. Not because it was inherently a bad idea...but because no comic company would have the balls to see such a decision through. Same logic with Batman. Updating Batman worked well in Batman Beyond...in fact it was great. But in the comic world no writer or company would deal with the long term ramifications of killing off such an icon.

I thought Tim Drake would've made an excellent Batman one day. That is, until he became a composite of all the worst parts of Bruce, Dick, and Jason.

Tim has said before that after his time as Robin is up he's retiring from heroing altogether. Unless he retconned that recently. I don't get to read much Batman since graduating from college - my old roommate collected them.

They really don't have to retcon anything. He could just change his mind.

If they worked Terry and Batman Beyond into official continuity - I would be a happy man.

I would too, well maybe take out that whole he is Batmans son bit. If you really wanted that save it for later. Moving on ya, I think it was a great series and think it had soo much potential. Except I would just want Joker to come back again.

Batman Beyond is great as an alternate Earth's future. I don't want it to be the official future of New Earth, though.

As for Tim retiring from superheroics, I doubt he's going to. He swore he'd never become as grim and dark as Batman a while back, too, yet here he is, brooding constantly and becoming more and more like Bruce ever since OYL. At this point, I'd prefer to see him retire right now. DC's done a thorough job of ****ing everything fun and unique about his character up already.
