Job Rant thread

i would've punched her in the face. but you should talk about it with your supervisor.

I think there was a thread for this somewhere, but anyway, hat's insane. Did you talk to her mom about her behavior before this?

I've only talked to the mother once, but my supervisor has talked to her many times. Honestly, the girl's whole family is screwed up, her little bro took a pencil and pressed it up against another little kids neck. Her older brother is kind of a dumb ass, he's a senior in high school, but when I talk to him he sounds more like a Jr. High kid.

well she's obviously looking for attention. Keep as far away from that little demon child as possible.:o

Haha, well luckily she is out of the program for good now, so I shouldn't be seeing her again. It was kind of funny because I had warned her that she would be kicked out of the program if she kept acting up and she would say things like "So what?" "I don't care." "Good, I'll be happy then." However, when she did get kicked out she was crying her eyes out. I nearly started laughing.

So we are working on my screenplay and we have to get it out next week because the studios are clamoring for it. I go in for a writing meeting and the marketting guy immediately starts jabbering about nothing, and turning everything to his project, which doesn't even have a script yet! He just won't stop. I was with them for 5 hours today and he monopolized like 3 of them. If the conversation turns away from his project, he turns the music up to deafening or today started talking about the He-Man movie, for god's sake.

Arrrrrrgh!

Wow, sounds like a real *****e, well hopefully his project winds up in production hell. Or that could be a bad thing, cause then he'd always be talking about it...

heh, there was actually a thread meant specifically for *****ing about your job. I forgot who made it.:o

let's sic your kid on him :)

lol, that's cruel and unusual punishment.

Which is my favorite kind. :o

Another thing I thought was funny was that the mother was trying to argue with my supervisor to keep her daughter in the program and one of the things she said was "My daughter has been going downhill ever since she joined up." So my supervisor replied "Well then now is a good time for her to leave."

From the sounds of it, your supervisor's got your back on this one, but it wouldn't hurt to close the loop with him/her and just make sure you're on the same page. A debriefing after an escalation of this sort is pretty standard procedure and you should express your concern over the allegations that were made against you to your supervisor.

This happened about 2 or 3 year ago, but it still makes me wanna yell. :csad: It may not have much to do with real jobs, but it counts for me. :csad:

I used to help out a music teacher, babysitting kids, making sure they did their work and didn't cheat on their theory practice.

Some of the parents would come in to get their children and take them home and such. I met a lot of them...

There was this cute little girl who I just loved. Her dad would always come pick her up, but one day he couldn't.... so her mom does it.

Turns out she's the type that uses her husbands money and pampers herself. A real perfectionist.

The little music store was really modest, and I doubt she had ever come before. She avoided everybody, and acted as if we were pigs.

She comes to the back room... I'm working with her daughter on her theory, teaching her the ABC notes on the piano... the mom takes one look at me... her eyes get pretty big.

Ahe turns around to get my boss (the piano instructor) and basically rants about having me there teaching her kid.

"I don't want my daughter being taught by amateurs! I need professionals!" she kept on ranting about my inequality and such.

Yah, I think I'll go in early tomorrow and talk it out with her. Part me of thinks I shouldn't worry, but with something this serious I don't want to take any chances.

Ouch, that hurts. So did the little girl stay in the program or did the mother have her pulled out?

What's a professional music teacher supposed to look like?

She stayed for the rest of the year. The mom didn't come back for a while, but the one time she did had been the perfect time for her to pick her daughter up.

My boss was tending to a phone call in her office, and wanted me to play a piece for the kids.

The mom came in as I was playing, thinking I was the instructor.... but you can imagine her surprise when she saw me. :O

She didn't say anything though... she just took her kid and left. But the look on her face was priceless.
