while I agree that there wasn't much to look at, with an understated teaser like this. we haven't seen any of the cities and other aliens. Unless you're too steadfast to notice how many times I've said this to you! ;)

So, are you saying there are parts of Mars vastly different from what I have seen so far?

The landscape hasn't changed. I thought I made it clear that plopping CGI and sets on the landscape didn't change that...

The only thing you've made clear is that you don't know much about the books this movie is based on.

it just breaks my geek heart when someone kinda dismisses a project like this.

The teaser under sold te premise but if you read the recent articles about the film (Colider, Slashfilm) the movie should be potentially great.

I mean the Pixar team is behind te film just without the pixar branding. Maybe that's why I'm a little defensive. Visuals aside, this ain't the same fools wrote and directed 'Price of Persia'. Thr problem with my argument is that we don't have much I go by until the next trailer...

Then maybe my problem is with the source material, which is fine. Doesn't change how I feel about the look of this film.

Oh boy, finding fault with a story you have not read. :whatever:

Especially a fantasy where Mars can be anything the author wishes within the story.

I do not need to know source material to know whether the look of a film appeals to me. Never read Harry Potter before I saw the first film. But I knew I liked it the second I saw the first trailer.

I was excited for this. All this talk of how good these stories are, and then I see this trailer and I honestly don't get it. It doesn't feel likes this grand, otherworldly adventure. I mean, I am the guy who actually likes the Dune mini-series. I am not that hard to please.

Talk about twisting my words. You know it is possible that somethings just doesn't appeal to some folk.

Dude, we get it. You're not amused. Now that's you've expressed your concerns could you do us all a really big favor and just move on?

I am sorry, but weren't you the one calling me back? And I don't see why I am not allowed to talk about this film, as long as I do it in a manner that is in accordance with the rules of the board?

You don't agree with me, thus I must stop?

You don't have an argument so yes, I think you should stop. The Mars in the film is just like the Mars in the source material. Talk about something else please.

The Mars of the source material does not dictate that I must like how Mars looks on film. After all that is what we are talking about here, the film, the visual medium.

We? No, now it's just you because I done with this crap.

Fanboys are just really protective and defensive about things they like.

Damn I didn't think that BS would end. Now that it is established that this film is the bane of DarthSkywalker's very existence I guess we can move on. I imagine this will be in 3D, am I right?

No, that would be Zach Snyder.

I'm not familiar with Burroughs' stories, but I think it looks cool. I think it's kinda lame that they seem too scared to call it John Carter of Mars, though. Just "John Carter" is kind of a blah title, IMO.

It seems like everything's at least being post-converted to 3D these days.

This has probably been mentioned before (sorry if it has) but I think it's kind of weird (and oddly cool) that this movie has quite a few of Marvel Movie actors in it - Taylor Kitsch, Lynn Collins, Willem Dafoe, Thomas Haden Church and Dominic West :yay:
