John Williams Documentary in the Works from Steven Spielberg – The Hollywood Reporter
You know his music. Now, you’ll be able to know him.

John Williams, the legendary screen composer behind some of the most recognized movie themes of all time, is now the subject of a feature-length documentary, with his long-time collaborator Steven Spielberg among those spearheading the project.

Amblin Television, Imagine Documentaries and Nedland Media are in the very early stages of production on the documentary that is being directed by Laurent Bouzereau. Bouzereau is a long-time director of “making of” and behind-the-scenes featurettes, producing a several hundred of them since the 1990s, including dozens for Spielberg movies.
Yes please.

I am a H U G E fan of this guy he is the musical voice of my childhood so I am pumped to see this

cannot wait to see this!

watching it now loving every minute of it, the dude is a living legend!

I watched it over the weekend. Great documentary that reinforces the idea that John Williams might just be the most talented human on the planet.

Yeah, it was fantastic. A lot of Williams’s personal life I didn’t really know much about as the death of his first wife so young.

Though, this could’ve been a 2 part documentary as they rush past a lot of his 90s/00s scores which are all masterpieces at this point.

Love how Spielberg is his ultimate cheerleader throughout the thing. And I don’t think I’ve ever seen George Lucas so complimentary in any interview I’ve seen on anything else lol

Can't wait to see this.
they have a great bit from Christopher Reeve from the early 90s saying without his music he would just not fly well.

"I owe a tremendous debt of gratitude to John Williams. Without his music, Superman's powers are greatly diminished. Believe me, if you try to fly without that theme....you go nowhere. One step, two steps and.....(whistles)...down."

Lucas owes Williams a great deal. Not saying that the score was the ONLY great thing about Star Wars because we all know that isn't the case but Williams's work on A New Hope was by all accounts the element that most exceeded expectations during its hectic production.

Watched it last night.
Bit disappointed that Superman & JP amongst others only got a small bit of coverage, but it blew me away to realise how little I actually knew about him, outside of his obvious music.
What a career & life he's had!

I really must get to see this.

This & the Christopher Reeve are both essential watches for me.

Need to book some time for these in the near future.
