One of Gaga’s Harley looks. We know she will have at least one other since the Announcement teased a completely different silhouette

I don't think that Todd Phillips is that pure of an artistic visionary to care about that lmao And there are plenty of ways to reinvent Batman to make him fit into what he's doing.Wasn't the whole appeal of Joker is that it wasn't a "comic book" movie and that it was a Taxi Driver type movie? Seems like the more you add other costume characters like Batman into it, the more it loses what made the first movie so unique in the first place.
I mean, obviously it's not like they're gonna be crying over it, but what I do mean is that it does present a bit of an issue in terms of figuring out what to do in the future.I don't think having a very successful movie will be a headache for WB.
Joaquin Phoenix's obvious embarrassment about the Batman aspect of the whole affair makes me feel it is kinda unlikely he'll ever do a movie where he straight up fights Batman. Joker 2 is going to be more successful than any other movie on their slate obviously, I don't see a scenario where it isn't, and it wouldn't shock me if they offered him such an unimaginable sum of money that he does do a Batman vs Joker movie in 3 but it's not like he'd be willing to do Joker stuff indefinitely.Man it's gonna be such a headache for DC if this movie ends up making more money than The Batman 2 and Brave and the Bold, which it might.
Probably costs half as much as both those films, gets more traction for both the general audience and both the Academy. From every single direction you can think off expanding upon this world seems a whole lot more appealing for execs and from a business and artistic perspective.
Phillips has already stated in the past he'd like to see a Batman in his Jokerverse. Todd Phillips Wants to See a 'Batman' Movie from His 'Joker' World - Variety
So... if this movie makes a billion and he comes up with a Joker 3 with a Batman, what do they do? What's even the incentive to continue with The Batman franchise and Brave and the Bold instead of prioritizing this?
It makes sense if you operate under the assumption that if they offer enough money to Phoenix, a guy who was physically ashamed to be saying the name "Thomas Wayne" on the set of the first movie, to make a Batman vs Joker movie that'll be the climax of the Joker franchise. I doubt Phillips would have any interest in continuing on without Joaquin.I mean, obviously it's not like they're gonna be crying over it, but what I do mean is that it does present a bit of an issue in terms of figuring out what to do in the future.
-They can't cancel The Batman 3 because that'll probably make enough money to justify its existence even if it's not as succesful as Joker.
-Maybe they should push back Brave and the Bold but they won't because they need a Batman for their cinematic universe.
-They can't say no to a Joker vs Batman movie because that **** will just print money and would undoubtedly be one of WB's biggest successes.
So there's this absolutely bizarre scenario where we could potentially have 3 separate Batman franchises at the same time, with the cherry on top being that the least expensive one would be by far and away their most succesful one. It's just... weird. And it's really not hard to see how it could cause a bunch of problem going forward.
As much as I was against it, having 2 separate Batman with one being the grounded one and the other the fantastical shared universe one made sense. But here it'd be 2 grounded Batman and a fantastical one. That's too much, and that does risk of audience over-saturation. And if they had to decide for going between Reeves Batman or Phillips Batman, Phillips would be the no-brainer since it'd clearly be the most financially succesful one.
This is why I think you won't be seeing Batman in the Joker movies.
Joaquin Phoenix's obvious embarrassment about the Batman aspect of the whole affair makes me feel it is kinda unlikely he'll ever do a movie where he straight up fights Batman. Joker 2 is going to be more successful than any other movie on their slate obviously, I don't see a scenario where it isn't, and it wouldn't shock me if they offered him such an unimaginable sum of money that he does do a Batman vs Joker movie in 3 but it's not like he'd be willing to do Joker stuff indefinitely.
The answer is that they can make a bunch of money off all these versions. Plus, both Joker and The Batman will probably be trilogies whereas The Brave and the Bold you have to assume they view as a potentially long term prospect.
Of course Phillips has an idea! He for sure wants to make that movie. It's the logical endpoint of the story he's telling and would make him a sum of money equivalent to the GDP of a decently sized nation. If they can sell Phoenix on it, it will happen. The thing is Phillips has already expressed interest in a Batman movie set in this world, and he already set up Bruce Wayne becoming Batman in the first film. Can we /really/ be sure he doesn't have an idea on how to do Batman? To me it's kinda obvious he does. It'd probably be a radically different take from the comics, but Phillips definitely has an idea.
And also, is Joaquin /really/ that ashamed over the Batman mythology aspect of this? Because I didn't really get that impression at all. And if he already got sold on doing this movie with Harley Quinn, I'd have to imagine it's not gonna be that hard to sell him on doing one that's just Joker vs Batman especially with a reinterpretation of the character. He clearly loved played Arthur, and even in several interviews I remember him stating how he had the time of his life playing him and saw limitless possibilities with him. I'd have to imagine that if Phillips offers a movie like that to him, he'll take it.
