The Dark Knight Joker Scars: Accidental; self inflicted?

i cant imagine what that joker's voice sounds like. in my head its like this balloon full of helium slowly draining. but you're right..its still someone's interpretation, and i think thats a great part of these characters, is that there are so many ways to do them...right or (in that one's case) wrong.

his voice sounds like a gruff Mark Hamil

huh. now thats not as bad as i imagined, at all. still, visually...ugh. thats just...wrong. not even in a "oh they screwed up the joker!" way, but just like a....character design in general way.

Well there are so many things they strayed from the source, but they are making their own comic book movie. They have created their own Batman lore using the comics as source material. There are so many comics and designs of Batman which one to pick?

You really can't fit all these versions into one movie, or just pick a favorite so what they are doing is creating their own using the comics (as I said before) as inspiration

i think i may have nightmares after seeing the first image. but thanks!

yeah, the graphic novel itself is probably one of the most deeply disturbing i've ever read. the joker wears red high heels, if i remember correctly, which i always thought was wonderful, and from what i hear, we get more cross dressing joker in TDK.:hoboj:imagine that face wearing a pink dress and nylon stockings.

In Arkham Asylum he threatens to gouge out this little girls eye with a pencil, calls batman a tight ass and uhh i forgot what else. I have to read it again.

crook, i'd be interested, what's your preferred design from the comics? leaving tdk joker out of it entirely. personally my favorite would have to be TKJ joker, even though i know that was sort of a one shot type deal.
Without a doubt my favorite is Alex Ross' take. It encompasses all the classic visual elements of the character, and brings it to life. Honestly, it looks exactly how Joker would probably be, if he was lifted straight from the pages. I absolutely think it's perfect:

Well I was using Joker as a reference to point out the different designs by artists. I really didn't want to dig up pictures of something like Mask of the Phantasm where Joker is a hitman for the mob and compare it to The Killing Joke where he is afailed comedian ya know?
I'm merely saying the different designs you've brought up didn't last long or are not widely adapted. In general, the majority of the Joker drawings ALL look the same. There'll be a few differences of course, but that's due to artistic liberty.

I lurved the Joker's teeth in TLH. Sooo creepy (maybe I just have a thing about creepy teeth?).

What series is the third image from?

There isnt a picture of the joker from that!? I do know what you are talking about though.

I doubt they'll even say. It's been confirmed that he already has the scars in the IMAX prologue, which is his first scene. Nolan said he's already an "absolute." He's just there. No origin.

Oh ya, I felt like showing the more radical differences that have been drawn

yep since he is getting no origin you can rule out bats being the casue since they had never met as of yet.

its quiet possible its been the work opf one of the mob before he became this bitter twisted pyscho or myabe havery dent will have a prt hence joker idsfiguring him.

only thoughts but we can at least forgot the bat was the cause.

cant wait to se how grusome two face looks. surley the wont go for the realsitc tone yet agian and screw it up.

Actually, Two Face will have no facial damage, and will simply close on eye.

The chelsea grin is common among hooliganism, I think he was a normal guy attacked and beaten by a street gang that gave him the smile then he just went completely psycho and killed them all, after realizing that Gotham was the cause of all his troubles he goes completely anarchist and labels Batman his archenemy because he is a symbol for Gotham.

He starts out as the Joker in the prologue so looks like there will be no explanation for the scars.

Why would going for a "realistic tone" with a guy who's had half his face burned with acid screw it up? I imagine he'll look something like TLH.

I see there are no admirers of the 4th pic of the Joker in that series of pictures...

that would be due to the fact that it is a rapage of everything the Joker we all are fans of stood for. The Joker in that pic is just a raving and brainless lunatic for a very poorly done rendition of a Batman cartoon

kinda like what they have with this Lonnatikz garbage..completely reworking the Looney Tunes to fit the brainless children of today..cuz god forbid cartoons actually be a little classic in any sense of the word

that 4th pic i don not like one bit.

and wth, how can you rework looney tunes!?
