Jon Peters

I'm gonna be buying that Peters-Guber book. Sounds interesting.

Yes, it's always fun to express your hatred for Jon Peters.

Jon "Giant Spider" Peters needs to go back to hair dressing. BTW, the extras on the '89 DVD are a LOT better and more insightful than the Batman Begins' extras.
Retrospectives on older movies always seem more interesting when compared to current movies.

what is he doing now? is he back to cutting hair and hooked on phonics.

According to Kevin Smith-
Jon Peters wanted a Chewy(star wars) like character in Superman Lives and in Kevins words "What? Ya want me to f--king write Chewy in to the movie?" then Peters said"I want My F--king Chewy." Then Kevin said "I got youre f--king chewy right here(then Kev grabs his genetal area)"

*laughs maniacaly*

He may be a lazy bastard, but Smith speaks the truth. :D:up:

He didnt actually say that to Peters. Everytime he makes fun of him, he always tells the audience that he thought that but didnt say it because he wanted the job.

Those who are interested in hearing more about Peters/Guber should read the book Hit and Run- which is about the rise and fall of Peters and how they took over Sony Pictures for a short time. There is a lenthy chapter on Batman in there where they interview Burton and he said that basically Guber was very much involved in the preprod of the film, while Jon Peters was the one always on set and there was a time according to the book where they pressured Burton so much that he ran off set- there is a scene in Burton's Ed Wood that is exactly like this, so that incident probably inspired it. While Peters probably would have ruined Superman, he did have some good ideas for Bat 89 and was hugely involved in the marketing hype. Also yes Speilberg did ban them from Color Purple and they also were barely involved with Rain Man even though they were credited on it. In fact Peters was so clueless about the story of Rain Man , the one time he went to the set he asked Tom Cruise "Your playing the ******ed one right?", according to the book.

I've read it and it's great!...I was FLOORED at some of the crap that went on ( Basinger and Peters affair!)..great stuff!

Another argument erupted over who was going to foot the bill for the crew's black leather Batman jackets: originally Peters's responsibility, he had shucked it, causing Nicholson to snap at Basinger, "Tell that guy whose c**k you've been sucking for the past six months that he's an ******* for not paying for the jackets!"
Jack rules! :D
