I have read "We know Jon makes a cameo in the movie..." in an article talking about the trailer.
How do we know that? Is he in the trailer and I missed it?

Another question that I have wondered for a while,
when Jon does show up in the movies should be be an architect? Or a veteran US Marine?

I am not familiar with his character, so I don't know if he is both, was always both, or was an architect and was recently changed to a Marine because of the cartoon show.

There was some news about an actor being cast as a Marine for a bar fight scene, people assumed it was John Stewart.

Personally, I hope its not. The guy they cast was just some random, unknown actor, and I think they could do better. Granted, they could always recast when they give him a bigger role in a sequel, but recasting sucks.

The guy has been appearing at Wizard conventions as the guy playing John Stewart.

His name is Nick Jones and ironically, Nick is an ex-Marine turned actor. IMDB has him listed as "John Stewart", but let's take that with a grain of salt until we actually see him onscreen.

How about the real Jon Stewart? Any chance we'll see him in the movie? He did write a book called "Earth," you know. Maybe he knows a thing or two about defending it.

Actual marine, turned actor, playing a marine? Nice.

He'll appear with Clark Kent in a cameo.

Found this on deviant art. That's him, with the GL ring. If he can act, I say more power to him. Looks like Jon Stewart to me :hal:

Terrence Howard for has been lobbying for the role.
Given the tone of the film, he may just get it.

So we should expect Don Cheadle to be playing him in a sequel?

John Stewart was retconned into a marine after the cartoon. He has always been, and still is, an architect. Maybe that's how he paid for college, not sure. How did Clark Kent pay for college? *shrug*

Anyway, the fact that he's an unknown is a little discouraging. I would have liked to see him at almost buddy cop status at some point. Alas.

I thought you were talking about Daily Show Stewart the way you spelled it.

Hmm...I just had a thought. Does anyone else think that Will Smith would be a solid choice as John Stewart?

I actually think he would be a great choice. He has the charisma and the star power. Him and Reynolds would probably work really well together also.

I like Smith alot. But he usually doesnt play 2nd fiddle

COlumbus Short could be good, Derek Luke (poach someone else from Marvel :ninja:) would be a good choice too

If they wanted to do a solo film with John Stewart with a July release, then I would heavily consider Will Smith in the role. As it is now, John will probably a minor character and there could be a chance to get a new actor a shot at being in a big budget film.

I don't care if he's an unknown or not, he definitely looks like John Stewart. If he can act too, I'd be totally fine with him as John.

He visually looks good as Jon Stewart, but he definitely doesn't seem like an actor who will actually appear in any of the other films, so...it kinda seems like a wasted/throwaway cameo to me...

He really does look the part. Hopefully he can act. But he probably will be replaced if John is to be a character in upcoming film(s).
