Would you like to see Jon Stewart seek political office? I think he would make a great candidate. I honestly think he could win as an independent. He is smart, he is witty, he is charasmatic. I think he would make an outstanding politician. What are your thoughts?

no thanks.

Americans barely take liberals seriously as it is.

he'd need a ton of coaching, but he'd be one of the few honest, no b.s. politicians alive. i'm hoping al franken runs for and takes the senate seat from norm coleman in minn. that might set a good enough precedent to get stewart to think seriously about it.

It's really sad liberals are this desperate for leadership.

I prefer him as a comedian and political satirist, frankly. His reach and influence is far greater where he is at than it would be if he were in office. :)

^ Exactamundo. Besides, he'd never do it in a million years.

He could be Colbert's VP.

I kinda get this feeling that he actually does want to go into politics, but he fears that nobody will take his views serously enough or that the oposition will use his comedic background against him. I do think he will make a good polition someday, but he would have to slowly and smoothly transform into a more serous person.

Thats why I don't think that Colbert could do it. But Stewart's humor is dry and serious to an extent. I think he could pull it off.

Which ones? There's not any serious support from any liberals for this to happen. It's an amusing thought to consider, but that's it.

Conservatives are desperate enough for leadership to have elected Bush, as well as Reagan, Sonny Bono, and Arnold, so there ya go

Hey Im sure he can do it,i mean look at Regan or arnold.

I would love to see him in a debate.

Whether you agree with their politics or not Reagan was a great speaker, probably one of the best in the last 20 years. Sonny Bono was a decent speaker. Bush and Arnold are horrible I don't really understand that at all.

Jon Stewart is a great speaker and when someone goes into politics and can talk to the people like they are right in front of them and not like the person is reading from a book people listen.

actually, i think the vast majority of this country is desperate for any sort of competant leadership right now...as opposed to the B.S. that this administration is serving us. it aint just liberals.

Didn't they make a film about this? Wasn't it called "Man of the Year"?
