Disney Acquires Rights To Jonathan Hensleigh's Upcoming Action Film "Nine Lives"

New York, NY (CNS) - The Walt Disney Co. has reportedly sealed a $1.75 million deal with attorney-turned-filmmaker Jonathan Hensleigh for the rights to his forthcoming thriller "Nine Lives." The film will be produced by Jerry Bruckheimer, who had previously collaborated with Hensleigh on four projects, including "The Rock," "Armageddon," "Con Air" and "Gone in 60 Seconds."
According to Variety.com reports, Hensleigh, who is also directing the film, pitched the script of "Nine Lives" to Bruckheimer while they were making "The Rock," but the project didn't materialize at the time due to their commitments to other work.
The story of the film revolves around the life of a Manhattan detective called "Nine Lives," because of the number of shootings he has survived while on duty.
Hensleigh made his directorial debut in 2004 with the Marvel character The Punisher, which he also wrote. His next film, "Welcome To The Jungle," is expected to be released later this year.

Is this action, action/comedy, action/drama, drama, comedy??? We'll see. I should find out more this week for those who care. I like Hensleigh's work as a writer and he did a solid job with 2004's Punisher considering the lousy budget.

The Punsher was good. He should direct the sequel.

Shh! Don't let the reboot supporters* hear you! Thay might come in here and list everything that was wrong with it. Even though they haven't even seen WarZone yet!

*Okay, I'm a supporter. But, I also love the 2004 version... Yes, I said love!
