Hensleighs Script vs Current Script

Bah, I'm opposed to Walmart getting more advertising then it already those, fascist corporation it is.

How are they facist? I hear that they're nice people who give jobs who people who really need them.

Although, I don't know if there are any wal-marts around me.

lol, I felt like saying fascist, but it ain't a good characterization.
They are anti-union, they greatly contribute to the exploitation of foreign workers. They outsource like crazy. They destroyed mom and pop shops.
They kick puppies.

Well its a good thing I work for a local business. Although sometimes I want to kick the puppies when I get a-hole customers.

Most businesses are like this.

True, this is why most businesses in the past, and probably presently have supported fascist, authoritarian governments.

Hell, the U.S. overthrew a freely elected government in Guatemala in 1954 because it was messing with business interest.

A lot of developing countries that have primary products as the main source of their economy are run by dictators who make sure that the human rights of workers doesn't cut into profits.

All in all, Walmart might be one of the bigger *****e-bags, but its part of a collection of many, and most people in industrialized countries that could raise ***** about it are preoccupied with the distractions put in place by the powers that be.

We are well behaved subordinated little monkeys.

That's cool. Hey, did you know there's a new Punisher movie coming out?

At this point i'm not sure about either script, both Hensleigh's and the new one have good and bad points.

wal-mart is an evil corporation ran by evil people. everybody should watch "wal-mart: the high cost of low price"... it's a real eye-opener. great documentary.

the current script definitely is better. i only skimmed through the reviews of the new one, but hensleigh sucks and his script shows it. how was tom jane comparing that to taxi driver? or was that his own vision, and not what's represented in that script? i'm confused. haha...

I like shopping at Wally-World. Where else can I get dvd's for cheap and all of my Marvel Legends for a 1 or 2 cheaper than Toys R Us. Long live the Walton family!!!

I've read the first draft of Punisher:Warzone a long time ago, like most people I picture the story happening on screen as I read, have to say it wasn't that bad. I considered it being a first draft, so in my head I filtered up the cheezy bits (lots of cheeze!) as I went along.

(SPOILERS)

Things I liked:

Stephanie (Stevie) West- No romantic interest with Frank, she plays by the books, there's potential for a powerful/emotional scene where she has an understanding of why Frank kills.

I like how Frank manipulates the Justice system: He turns himself in to authorites just to kill an arrested pedophile, then easily escapes from the police station. It shows how much skill he has over the feds, especially when he out-smarts Stevie and kidnaps her in the FBI parking lot.

I like Stevie's father, being a justice teacher he had some really interesting things to say about punishment and flaws of the system.

I like when Stevie tells Frank his childhood was normal, "not the type to end up walking in a mcdonalds with an AK". That's when she starts to realize he's not an average killer.

I liked how Pitsy's shotgun blew heads off cardboard figures of Spider-man and Wolvie, it worked for me by showing how dangerous the Punisher's world is compared to the cartoony dangers other marvel heros would face.

I was in Walmart the other day, honestly I think it's great for an action scene. It's super easy to go slap-stick in there, but a little fun between the blood wouldn't hurt.

The funniest scene for me in the script was when Pitsy got his arm chopped off, he runs away to gifts/cards section of walmart. With his blood making a mess everywhere he sees a "Get Well" card. Pitsy: "I plan to ya *****!"

I'm still depressed that a Punisher 2 with Thomas Jane and Jonathan Hensleigh isn't happening but instead we're getting a "re-boot". Sigh.

Where does one locate this script?

There are copies scattered over the internet... and I know a few of the members here at SHH have copies. I used to have one, but it's gone now.

The old or the new? I saw the old one a long time ago. I was offered the new one soon after it was done but didn't want it. I didn't want to spoil the whole damn movie. People tend to nitpick and pick things apart when they know too much and forget to just freaking enjoy what they got.

I would love to get a hold of the War Zone script.

I'll read either one. I'm curious about the direction they've gone with Jigsaw. Anyone know where the scripts are located, or anyone who has an electronic copy of either script?

I know what you mean, was watching the 2004 movie last night, and while i wont miss Hensleigh TOO much, i will miss Jane terribly. He had SO much potential as The Punisher its a damn shame he left.

I had the Hensleigh script and I was very much disappointed in it. Not enough of Frank. I would like to snag a copy of the newest script and read through it. If for nothing else to print out and put into my Punisher collection.

He had SO much potential as The Punisher

This is the most important thing to remember about Jane. Potential is not results. He MIGHT have become a great Punisher. He was an OKAY Punisher, better than what we'd seen in the past, but he also wasn't being compared to anything good.

He's gone, we have another amazing actor in his place. An actor who, from what i've seen in Rome, has the type of on-screen-fighting-presence which will blow Jane out of the water. Even in "Stander", Jane's best performance in an unknown film, he never comes close to the level of violence that the Punisher is.
