Josh Gad to go on a Three Hour Tour of Gilligan's Island

I've noticed it but I did not notice it was literally in every sentence.

By the way, I feel an uncontrollable Eh to this whole thing. I know it's a harmless "whatever-movie" that will probably open at #2 in the first quarter of whatever year it comes out... but still... Eh. That's another thing. Why even make the damn movie. Will it even open at #1?Does it even have a shot at #2, realistically? You might as well just release it in February or March all by itself.

Vincent Kartheiser - Gilligan
Michael Gladis - Skipper
John Slattery - Thurston Howell
January Jones - Lovey Howell
Christina Hendricks - Ginger
Jon Hamm - The Professor
Elisabeth Moss - Mary-Ann

January Jones is way young to play Lovey; she's about three years younger than Christina Hendricks in real life. But I see your new take: Older Thurston, much younger Trophey Wife Lovey.

As annoying as he was on the show, this would be the first time I'd legitimately want to see Gilligan get the **** beat out of him.

Josh Gad is too fat to play Gilligan and the professor and too young to play the Skipper and TH III.

Jay Baruchel for Gilligan.

The problem with doing old shows and old cartoons and adapting them to modern movies is the humor. The humor is usually changed for a broader audience. A good example is The Smurfs and Alvin and the Chipmunks; from innocent, optimistic sort of comedy to sometime more brash and generic.

But if you do it right like, like The Brady Bunch movie, then it'll be gold. Brady is probably the best out of the crop because it maintain the show's innocent humor and deconstruct it in a very satirical way.

Jay is someone I have always pictured for Gilligan.

You forgot Raunchy- because it's important to be edgy. :whatever:

It's already been done. Why do we need a re-tread of that?

Of course, there's the answer is simple. Because it's Hollywood aka The H-WOOD aka HW. And if they're gonna do this, then copy from the better template. ID Brady Bunch Movie.

People always asked why the Professor could build all this elaborate **** but couldn't fix the whole in the boat, and the reason is honestly because he was a scientist, not a handyman. He could construct a microscope out of a bead of water and a leaf but doing something like blue collar manual labor was out of his depth.

Is there even a real demand for a Gilligan's Island movie? The show was on TV in the 60s and the TV movies were on in the 70s. Kids and younger people today never watched the show and probably have very little interest in a movie based on something their parents and grandparents watched unless it's a R-rated sex comedy.

O.K assuming this thing is going to be made.

Adam Brody - Gilligan
Kevin James- Skipper
Bruce Campbell- Mr. Howell
Mrs. Howell- Drew Barrymore
Ginger - Karen Gillan
The Professor- Joel McHale
Mary Ann-Nina Dobrev

For a second I thought that was Adrien Brody as Gilligan, which, honestly, is not the worst suggestion in the world.

I think this movie can work without becoming an R-rated grossout comedy or a meta-ironic parody. They can make it into a lighthearted action-adventure movie, like the Journey movies.

I don't know what it is, but I really dislike this Josh Gad guy. Every time I see him in anything, I just want to punch him until he gets off the screen. It's like they took all the worst part of Jonah Hill and Jack Black and created some sort of annoying Fattenstein monster.
That NBC show that he had made me hate him.

Gad got real lucky with Book Of Mormon IMHO. He was one of the worst on air personalities on TDS. He just TRIES SO HARD. He's filling my screen up with flop sweat trying to be a mix of Farley, Jack Black and Jonah Hill.

I think Brady Bunch style is the only way to go for something like this, but it has to be really well done.

DJ Qualls should come back to mainstream and be Gilligan.

I'm starting to imagine Ginger and Mary Ann now. Mmm...

I saw his understudy in Book of Mormon and he was so good that I never minded missing Josh Gad in the role at all.
