Jurassic World - - Part 11

Just my two cents but I barely remembered the first as... I haven't seen it!

I thought as a newcomer, it was really solid, defiantly makes me wanna watch past films.

Sorry, just wondering....if the dinosaurs ( raptors, T-Rex) were all females, how do they even reproduce?

They don't need male dinosaurs to mate ??

They aren't suppose to be reproduce. They grow all the dinos in the labs. However, in the first films, the dinos started to evolve and "found a way" to reproduce asexually.

^ Yep, due to having frog DNA, specifically from those capable of achieving that task. Once they start doing that, all bets are off as to what the gender will be.

I think I like Robot Chicken's explanation better. :o

It's a big part of the first movie. Stop asking questions and go watch it!

Saw this again tonight, enjoyed it even more, this movie is very much a crowd pleaser and people are loving it.

Finished and loved the original JP novel last night, minus a couple of things aka some poor character decisions ("...But he didn't know what to do in the maintenance shed, and HE'D LEFT HIS WALKIE TALKIE BEHIND"... for some reason) and toward the end, Malcolm's incessant, long ass know-it-all speeches were driving me crazy. But that's minor stuff and on the whole, I loved it. Time to seek out the TLW novel.

Even though it didn't break Avengers' third weekend, JW is still $43 million ahead. I think it has a fighting chance of crossing $700M domestic -- but $650M-$680M is still a GREAT result.

Glad you enjoyed it. It's ine of my favorite books, though I've always felt it falls apart in the last act.

The Lost World isn't as good but still highly enjoyable. It bears little resemble to the movie; they basically took the title, island and a few characters from the book. Little else. It takes forever to get going, but once it does it doesn't really let up.

Crichton's Lost World book is more fast paced once the story gets going.

Seems like it has a good amount more competition...

Maybe, but nothing that will slow its momentum the way it did to others. The only film being released that will take away a decent amount of attention from it will be Minions.

What I remember best about the JP novel is what an obnoxious brat Lex was and how Tim knew and could do everything. Spielberg really improved those characters.

Has a sequel been officially announced yet?

Pratt confirmed he would be returning for the sequels. Other than that there hasn't been a press release or anything like that, but with JW's box office a sequel is guaranteed.

Yeah, JW is a license to print money for Universal now. No way will they pass up a chance to make a sequel or two. Let's hope they won't be as bad as JP2 and JP3, though.

Book Lex was awful. That was definitely a positive change.

I much prefer Movie Hammond too.

Anyone else think there is a chance the I-Rex survived the Mosasaur? On both viewings I found it strange the way we don't actually see the I-Rex die and things just tend to go quiet once they both go under the water.
