Jurassic World - - Part 11

Looks like JW scored about 44 million this weekend.

Minions will win next week, but it's the only big movie opening. It can probably do around 25 million next week. Either way it will be over 600 million by the end of next weekend.

Looks like 3rd all-time is pretty much a lock.

Yeah and Universal has done it with two movies in one year.

The competition isn't exactly fierce though. Terminator Genisys makes this look like a masterpiece.

Wait, so if it manages to score $100 million more in the US, it becomes #2 domestic over Titanic?

I thought the film was going to be lucky to hit 200mil. When I saw that it was tracking to do 125mil I was surprised but when I saw it's Thursday/preview numbers then opening day numbers I was flat out shocked. This film destroying Age of Ultron stateside was never something I even had an inkling would happen. Like everyone else I thought Age of Ultron was easily going to win the summer.

It faced a 90million opener in it's second weekend, The Avengers didn't face a 90million opener in it's second weekend. The Avengers competition was even weaker and people still rightfully praise it's run.

Actually, it scored 30.9 million this weekend. Ever since Ray Saubers left Box Office Mojo, it's been a hot mess. The new guy Keith is incapable of posting the data correctly. He never fails to screw something up when he posts his articles/charts.

But I agree with everything else you said.

Once my girlfriend is able, I do plan on seeing this again.

Only one thing has kept me and my wife from watching this film, and I'm not sure if this is actually true. Is there a point at which
Raptors are riding motorcycles?
If so, I don't know how I can get over the silliness.

Oh thank goodness that was unsubstantiated. Ever since I heard someone tell me that, I've avoided this movie.

Haha it's definitely false, nothing like that in this movie. But that gif is still hilarious.

And major props to JW for holding up strong...its run definitely deserves the praise more than The Avengers for the simple fact that it knocked down a lot of competition. The fact that it do so while breaking records when nobody thought it would even make a single wave says a hell of a lot.

Not to mention it kept movies that were already out from reaching their projected grosses. By now we all thought F7 would've passed TA, San Andreas should've hit $500 WW & AoU should've been past $1.4 billion by now. JW completely knocked all of that off course.

I'm like that. if I read something about a film that just pisses me off I usually do not go see that film. *coughterminatorgenesiscough*

Terminator Genisys didn't need something absurd to detract me. The trailers did enough.

You've avoided an entire movie experience just because someone told you that?
