Jurassic World

Not if every human a dino bites becomes a dino himself! Oscar!

Anyone think that he title has to do with a new park someone is building in the new movie? Like Disney World.

I hope that there are sea beasts in this film, finally. There are plenty to choose from, that could be very threatening. I don't know if Mr. Spielberg considers that a non-starter for the sake of avoiding any "Jaws" comparisons, but it should be dealt with in some form.

It could be.

Unless it means that dinosaurs are ruling the earth and the humans are trying to survive.

For the record, I like JP 3 MUCH more than Lost World. JP 3 was a high budget B movie, and it worked for me because it didn't try to be anything more. Lost World, which I HATE, tried and failed miserably. The so-called "heroes" are a bunch of self-righteous hypocrites who prattle on and on about respecting life and nature, etc, but their actions, sometimes deliberate actions, are constantly getting people killed. Despite this, the movie still wants the audience to support them, I didn't, the hunters and mercenaries were the true heroes of that movie imo.

I wouldn't say I HATE TLW, but I do enjoy JP3 more. Although Grant and Eric are the only smart characters in the movie, it didn't disrespect the book as opposed to TLW. I know JP3 could be fixed with the deleted scenes, but lost world has too many issues for me to count/ignore. I do like it however, the music is great, the effects still look awesome today, the movie is gorgeous, and I love Jeff Goldblum and Pete Posthelwaite (the only well-written characters in the movie.)

But the global threat route does make sense considering majority of the dinos can't get off the island... And don't stand a chance against modern weaponry. Its a terrible concept.

Flying and Aquatic dinossaurs can get out of the Island whenever they want, and they can multiply very fast. Catching dinossaurs on land is one thing, but the flying and aquatic ones is another, not only would they present a threat to planes and boats, but they would also be more tricky to catch and destroy.

Im saying the idea is stupid

And that the pteronidons flying off to repopulate will probably be ignored so why try to do it again?

Why ignore? It wasn't a bad foreshadowing, takes the series into other directions and ignoring ideas that weren't bad to begin with just bring unwanted continuity problems.

Apparently the test footage was for a cancelled JP Game, from what I hear, but here it is.

Thought that was a given

This is what I always wanted to see, I love this concept art of it. View image for full resolution

ComingSoon and SlashFilm have picked up on the trailer as the "pitch trailer" so perhaps that is what it is? Who said it was for a video game?

... yes Aquatic and the few flying dinos that existed can... but A) what's a jurassic park movie without raptor and the t-rex?

and B) I think you really need the land dinos to make the movie still feel like a dinosaur movie... Im thrilled to have some water dinos.. but i don't want them to be the only ones in the film or the focus

as for ignoring them? what are the 3 pteranodon's going to do? be air transport for dinos? some how these giant birds re-populate in swarms that no one can seem to find on radar? you can't make a movie out of people shooting missles at dinos.. and it sounds like a ridiculous movie.

they may acknowledge the released pteranodon's like in the pitch video that was released today... but i don't expect that to be the basis of the film

Yup it's pitch footage. IMO I'm of the opinion it's actually about dinosaurs populating on the mainland rather than the park up and running. Way more potential than the latter

Don't really like that scene to be honest.

It's not even pitch footage.

A few hours ago a reported pitch trailer for the film leaked online. Said trailer was part of a presentation at a recent "Star Wars" convention. It got to the point that even producer Frank Marshall commented saying it's "not part of the movie."

Turns out there's a good reason the visual effects look weak - the whole clip is actually for a video game of the same name, a game that never came to be.

Dark Horizons
Frank Marshall was saying on Twitter it was pitch footage, but not part of the film. I'm inclined to believe the idea, since even though they changed the species, the Pteranodon swarm attacking the mainland has been in a couple JP scripts since 2004.
I don't doubt it ended up being used for a cancelled JP game, I mean it had to be considering the font and whatnot. But I still imagine it had its roots in JPIV.

Also, Trevorrow confirmed on his Twitter Phil Tippet is back for dinosaur effects.

id agree... but again. the most famous and iconic dinos can't swim or fly.. so can't populate the mainland. so it actually limits potential imo

I would love it if the entire world was overrun with dinosaurs. Imaging a group of survivors walking through a city street overrun with plants and trying to escape a T-Rex or something.

oh yeah.

Yeah, but those Pterosaurs in the pitch footage are NOT Pteranodon. They are a much larger Pterosaur, can't tell exactly which one it is, but it's either the recently discovered Hatzegopteryx or Quetzalcoatlus

I love some of the stupid comments on the front page, imdb, and youtube.

"Oh it looks like a SyFy movie".

It's like some of these folks don't read the article or understand that it's..a pitch trailer. They're gonna render photo-real dines, or build animatronics for essentially test footage.

If they had a Plesiosaur in the movie that would be pretty hardcore!

It turns out it's just a pitch for a video game that by happenstance had the same title of 'Jurassic World'.

If anyone who visits Jurassic Park Legacy Forums, you'll find funny and baffling reactions to the title of 'Jurassic World'. Some folks think it's stupid, and some want 'Park' in the title so badly that they would've preferred the bafflingly redundant "Jurassic World: Jurassic Park 4'.

It's one think to think it's stupid, but we don't know the context of the story. 'Jurassic Park' as a franchise has always been very 'meta'; in the first film, the story was about all about merchandising and capitalism. So much that you even see 'JP' toys in the film.

So obviously 'Jurassic World' alludes to 'Disney World'. Something bigger.. It's not that hard to grasp.

Second, about continuity with title. That was all thrown away with Jurassic Park 3, after THE LOST WORLD: JURASSIC PARK. So it's a moot, and fanboys need to calm down on 'title' continuity that doesn't exist in the first place.
