Just bought a DS

Mine's a slidey phone from LG. You know, the screen's on the front, but you slide it up to get to the buttons. I don't know what the technical, phone-savvy term is for those.

I think they call em a slider. The DS has some cool games comin out this fall. Two that I'll for sure pick up are Mario&Luigi: Bowsers Inside Story and Pokemon: Heart Gold and Soul Silver.

gotta question for ye DS players, is Sonic Chronicles any good?

^I thought it was decent, but then again I only played it for a few minutes.

Yup, I'll be picking these up also.

Also, everyone, and I mean EVERYONE who calls themselves gamers had better buy Scribblenauts when it's released.

Game of the Show per IGN, Gamespot, and Eurogamer.
DS Game of the show per GameTrailers, GamesRadar, Kotaku, among others.

BUY IT! :cmad:

I've been playing it for a while and I enjoy it. It's a pretty straightforward RPG with some touch controls thrown in during combat. They can be really obnoxious sometimes, but once you get the hang of them they're all right. The story's pretty cool, too. Granted, I'm speaking as a Sonic dilettante, so I don't know how well it'd appeal to super-hardcore Sonic fans or anything. I haven't played a Sonic game in a long time, so I didn't even know who Amy Rose was.

I plan to pick it up, does it have an official date?

Also, just to let you know, GameSpot and Eurogamer are actually huge negatives to credit with any game:)

I'm not of a fan of Sonic to be honest. Don't hate them or anything, just never cared much for them. I'm mostly picking it up because of Bioware. I want to see what they've done with it

I liked the Sonic cartoon that aired on Saturday mornings. Not the one where Sonic was always eating chili dogs and getting into zany adventures, the one where Sonic lived in the forest with a bunch of freedom fighters and Robotnik ruled the world (which was called Moebius). He was in love with Sally Acorn, the princess of the kingdom Robotnik overthrew to gain power. And she was a fox, which is totally better than a human. I really hate seeing humans other than Robotnik in Sonic stuff, which is my only nitpick with Sonic Chronicles so far.

Oh, and Scribblenauts sounds like fun. I was gonna get that anyway.

Scribblenauts looked pretty neat, since you really have the freedom to create anything. I mean I saw a video of a guy creating a fight between God, equipped with a skateboard and a shotgun, and Cthulhu

ok Scribblenauts looks like the best game ever made. I must buy this......I just read about a guy defeating a shark with a hair dryer....my god

Here's an interesting test from Joystiq on Scribblenauts

We were extremely impressed with our time with Scribblenauts on the E3 show floor, but in a weird way, we felt this primal desire to conquer it. After an evening of brainstorming, we developed ten words we were certain would stump the game's seemingly infinite vocabulary -- the surprising results of our little experiment are posted after the jump!

1. Internet -- While we thought the developer wouldn't bother including something as intangible as the intarwebs, entering the word actually spawns a little computer. A little adorable computer. Scribblenauts 1, Joystiq 0.

2. Tattoo -- How could the game possibly render a piece of body art? By spawning a sheet of temporary tattoos, of course. Clever, Scribblenauts. Very clever.

3. Air -- How could you even tell if the game spawned air? Inputting this word creates a tiny puff of air that, when dragged and dropped, is absorbed into the surrounding air. 3-0.

4. Molecule -- No object is too small for Scribblenauts' vocabulary. We entered molecule, and received a tiny model of a molecule in turn.

5. Scribblenauts -- Instead of causing the game to become self-aware, an event that would certainly lead to the destruction of mankind, entering Scribblenauts causes the original character model for Maxwell, the game's protagonist, to appear.

6. Narwhal -- Not only did it cause a horn-touting whale to appear, but we were able to ride atop its back, crossing the liquid divide between us and a Starite. Incredible.

7. Lutefisk -- Sure enough, a bright white fish appeared and began to flop around the level. Oddly enough, a previously spawned Santa Claus ran up and ate the Lutefisk. He must have a cast-iron stomach.

8. Plumbob -- No dice! The game's lead designer was hanging over our shoulder as we entered in this unrecognized word. He quickly asked what it was, pulled out his phone and feverishly sent some unknown party a text message. "Okay," he said. "It'll be in the final product."

9. Stanchion -- The bulk of us actually thought this word was made up -- but Scribblenauts managed to spawn a weight-bearing post, which is apparently what a stanchion is.

10. Joystiq -- Upon entering Joystiq, the game brought up the spell check menu, asking us if we meant to spell "Joystick." We're willing to count this, but we're hoping 5th Cell can manage to include some representation of our site in the final product.

You guys should look up the video of them having a Kraken fight random things. Ultimately they pitted God against it.

Scribblenauts sounds like it'll be alot of fun. I didn't even know such game exists, but now I'll probably pick it up when it comes out in the Fall.

It's definitely an original looking game. Not sure if I will pick it up though.

Oh I'm buying it launch day. It looks like so damned much fun, I doubt I'll bother with any kinda story, I kinda just want to spawn random **** and watch em fight

When I went to GS to pick up Ghostbusters I pre-ordered Infinite Space because the guy said it would be out July 7th, and then I checked their website today and it says 12/31/09. I called and they said that probably means an indefinite delay.

Oh well, I may end up putting that 5 bucks on Scribblenauts instead

Well, I didn't even know it had any date in the States. I just kind of asked about it on a whim and he told me that and I jumped on it. Then checked their website, ugh, it'll probably get canceled here anyway

well that's a shame it happened like that man. That's why I'm always cautious pre-ordering a game cuz you never know
