Just HOW strong is Thanos?

I'm curious- in an edition of Marvel Two In One Annual( actually MTI#2 in 1977), Thanos is shown to be strong enough to knock the Thing cold with one punch(not even the Hulk or Thor can claim such a feat: Bashful Benjy is NO milquetoast!), and several pages later he holds off both the Thing and Thor single handed- and both possess Class#100 strength- meaning that they can both bench press weights up to and including 100 tons.

Also in the The Infinity Gauntlet, Thanos is shown holding his own against both the Hulk and Drax the Destroyer, so just HOW strong is he?

His strength was magically augmented long before he got the Infitnity Gems and the Cosmic Cube. Basically he's stronger than Thor (without the Odin Power).

I'm pretty sure his strength is technologically augmented too. He used magic and science from a relatively young age to augment himself.

I don't think Thanos is as strong as Thing or Hulk IMO. It all depends on the writers ofcourse, but I can't see him lifting a building.
