Wow, amazing how much Nolan used this graphic novel as almost a bible for his 2 Batman films...so many things I recognzied in the film, although I felt Nolan made Gordon more different than the graphic novel, in the film Gordon was more upright, but the novel he seemed more stand up. I thought Nolan did a better job of explaining how Batman actually became Batman...the steps he took and so forth. Amazing read.

Good for you it is an excellent story too bad David Mazzuchelli didn't do anymore Batman stuff.

one of the best batman graphic novels out there. i'm a big fan of batman's early career, so for me it's definitely a top tier outing. with each read it only gets better.

Def made me like Batman Begins more...

Agreed

While I was reading I would "geek out" everytime I recognized something from either film

Gordon's family is getting kidnapped - "OMG THEY DID THAT IN TDK!!!"
Batman uses that radar thing to call bats - "OMG THEY DID THAT IN BEGINS!!!"

LOL

Year One is my absolute favorite Batman story. I wouldn't change a thing about it.

And I would lose my effing mind if Nolan (or anybody else) ever put the "From this moment on, none of you are safe" scene into a movie.

It was sort of ripped-off in the newest Punisher movie.

And yes Year One is awesome.

i always thought year one was great, but entirely over rated.

Miller's Magnum Opus.
One of the few flawless and true masterpieces of comic books.
Great for its time, great for this time.
I was sucked into the comics when they were released.
What suprised me the most that Miller wrote Batman as a very optimistic spirit in a rotten city. That was great.

when it comes to Batman tales, hell yes but overall nah I'd have to say his Daredevil run still takes that cake, and you know me Truer when it comes to Batman or Superman I'm hard pressed to like anything else.

His Daredevil is a masterpiece, too, that's true, but I'm a Batman fan at heart and cannot connect to Daredevil in the same way, so I prefer "Year One".

Year One must be owned by every Batman fan. I love everything about this story and how Nolan took things from it to fit his own story.

LOL, I do that too.

I remember reading Year One for the first time. It was awesome. This is hands down one of Frank Millar's finest works.

His Daredevil was great....Wonder how Miller would of done a Superman comic book series.
