First I've never read the graphic novel but Iam gonna buy it today, I just readed some reviews which say its a great read and a great joker story. Yes I know nolan said that he wouldborrow from TKJ and the first two joker stories which is great. But from what I've read and from the art I've seen from TMWL, it seems that it would be a great idea if nolan took some reference from this, afterall it depicts the events that took place right after year one and shows the beginning of the freaks in gotham. Plus I've also read that it shows a great fight between batman and the joker(their first fight ever) in which joker comes out a pretty good brawler. And as I just saw the first pages show gordon's encounter with the victims of the joker in an abandoned building(chemical plant?). Plus their rigus mortis faces I mean, I hope nolan also uses some of that specially jokers confrontations with batman and his murderous attitude. What do you think is it as good a story as the reviews say? Should nolan incorporate some of that into the film?

TMWL could fit very smoothly into Nolan's universe. I'd like to see a lot of it incorporated.

Well they're going to say they took a lot from TMWL and put it in the movie, just like they said they took a lot from Y1 and put it in the movie. Of course the latter wasn't true and most probably neither will the former.

Well... at least they're not going to put Aliens and Predators...:o

Wouldn't be a bad idea if they did take at least the look from Collora's short film.

I think so

Yes definately! I've read TMWL and its a damn good read. The story actually revolves around the Joker without him taking up to much screen time. Its from Batman and Gordon's point of view, so Joker is more like the secondary character who you hardly see. That would translate well on screen with Nolan's idea about limiting on screen time for villians.

However, there are some things you have to tweak. Amazingly, they are the most minor things to change, but it still would screw up the Batman Begins continuity. For example, Arkham Asylum hasn't been opened yet in TMWL. So Nolan would have to tweak the story around in order to fit in with the movie continuity.

I'm in the development of writing my own sequel to BB and most of it is heavily influenced on TMWL. I can tell you its really hard to make it flow the right way. As soon as I get the script done, be on the lookout for the development of the fanfilm to my script called Batman Insanity!

Like what? Besides the costumes...

I would love to see Nolan take some bits from the man who laughs.

Is the fight batween batman and the joker a great fight? is the joker portrayed here as a physical challenge to batman?

Its quite brief. I've seen better scuffles between them.

is the joker portrayed here as a physical challenge to batman?

Heck no.

The costumes would be a great start, that way we'd finally see Batman on film instead of Rubber-bat-man. Next following the comics more closely would be nice, he lifted the look of various scenes right out of the comics. The spirit of Collora's work should be followed with the production values available to Nolan et al.

**** the man who laughs... let Nolan spin his magic, his own way...

The costume in Dead End looked like crap and I believe an all cloth Bat suit would looked pretty bad in any sort of film.

Nolan took scenes right from the comics as well - so that is not an issue.

Collora's work is over-rated.

I'd like to see inspiration from the Killing Joke too

Nolan should make a mix of "The man who lauhgs", "The Killing Joke" and as he said of the first comic The Joker appeared

And that won't be so easy.

Yea the problem is that all of those stories haver so many great characteristics but not all of them can be put in the movie,I think that nolan will try to make the movie as classic as possible but at the same time put all those classic joker elements in a modern context, I can imagine that nolan could have the joker kill comisioner loeb with the venom poison, in the first comic he did that and it would work perfectly in nolan's world. I don't know how he will make joker's anouncements in public, cause the radio would be to old, tv I don't know I don't think I want to see the joker making killing announcments on live tv, besides we have seen that in a way in batman 89. I want the joker's face to remain as misterious as possible atleast for the first 40 min of the movie, it would add a lot of tension and build-up. I think that maybe nolan could put joker on tv but in shadows, very dark. And show everyone in gotham speaking about this misterious and enigmatic figure.

...what does The Killing Joke have to do with the first comic the Joker ever appeared in? Or the Man Who Laughs for that matter (unless you are counting it a remake of Batman #1).

I said that Nolan should take elements from those three comics
