Is this any good?

If only I were rich I could afford to purchase any comics I wanted at any time, but sadly I'm but a high school senior who gets paid 7.28/hour. So I must be a tad more discriminating with my purchases.

Naturally I come to expect great artwork from Alex Ross, but is the story any good?

I think it's one of the best superhero books coming out today.

You have quality art from Ross, who paints these guys as Gods, and Braithwaite, who is doing a great job on the layouts.

The story is an updated version of Challenge of the Superfriends but not as predictable. We're 8 issues in and still, alot of things are unclear waiting to be unravelled.Especially the ending of last issue.Sure we know the good guys always win,but this time around the cost of their victory looks to be costly.

Every character has had their moment to shine so far,it's done a great job of jumping from character to character.Guys like Aquaman, Elongated Man, and the Metal Men are really getting fleshed out.No super cool costume updates or weapons, just the writers using these guys properly for a change.Yes Aquaman can be a great character even without the hook hand and Cable attachments.

This was the first DC book I started buying last year. It's an epic JLA story which is also a great DC primer, and I'm going to go out on a limb and say that after it's all over,it will be one of THEE must read JLA stories like New Frontier and JLA Year One.

We're really seeing these icons being tested in ways alot of us haven't seen before and it makes for an engaging read.

Also,it is the only book out there which is totally worth the jacked up cover price.

Looks to be worth it, but I'm waiting out the trade.

Ditto.

And the word layout is misleading, Ross is painting over his pencils.

You guys are better off waiting for the eventual Absolute. The hardcovers are double the cover price of the issues.

Yeah, which is why I'm going to for the softcover. Like hell I'm paying those ridiculious Absolute prices.

I can't see DC's marketing people packing this all into one softcover.

This is one Absolute I would definitely buy.

You'd be a fool to pay retail for the Absolute, but c'mon, they're like $40 on Amazon or Buy.

I have a question, is the last number late?, it was supposed to come out last wednesday, but in my comic shop they said it didnt arrive, is this true, i mean it happened everywhere?, or just in my shop?

There is no way in hell DC is putting this 12 issue beast into one trade. They're gonna pull a New Frontier and split it up.

Yea #9 was late, this is the first time I think that it has been.

Thanx, This is a first time with this tittle.

Books like this and "All-Star Superman" are where the Silver Age stuff should be used, which is why DC shouldn't feel the need to cram SA elements into their regular titles when this book and ASS were tailor-made for those elements.

#9 hits tommorrow baby.Oh hell yes.

Justice is trying really hard to be an "epic" and "earth shattering" story. we get it alex ross, you like epic silver-age stories, which oddly feel more like modern day stories useing certain silver-age elements.

It's a pretty epic story in my opinion. The creative team has done a great job with this book.
