It really isn't. I read Jurassic Park multiple times a year (it's my favorite), so often that I recently had to purchase a new copy due to it falling apart from constant use. I like that. I was uneasy at first with the crisp new binding and untouched pages. I just finished my third or fourth read-through this year, and it's finally getting that lived-in feel that I so love.

I'm not comfortable with the idea of losing my entire library of books if something happens to a small, plastic, easily breakable tablet.
You can back them up on any computer via USB. :) Yours for good. If you buy the eBooks from Amazon, they maintain a virtual library for you and you can redownload them again for free anytime you want. Piece of cake.

Ah, but if I accidentally screw up one of my paperback books, then I don't need to pull up backups of all my other books. They're already safe at home. I also wouldn't need to spend another couple hundred dollars in order to read them on the go again.

Only reason I'd get one of them there electric book thingys would be for comic books.

I read the first one but couldn't get into it. It was too juvinile for me. Not that it was bad, it just wasn't for my age group. I've seen all the movies though. I liked most of them, just not this last one much. :(

i'm feeling that way as well. the language is very dumbed down, for lack of a better phrase, but i think that's what makes them so accessible. the movies grew in depth and maturity as they went on and I hope the books will do the same

I'd be more inclined to try reading them through now if the books were available as eBooks. Rowling hasn't allowed it, she says the only way to properly read a book is to hold it in your hands. You'd think she'd be jazzed enough about getting kids to read that she'd allow her books to be out there in as many formats as possible. :(

i have them in kindle format. that's how i'm reading it now

i have started to buy them though so i'll have them. I've got the Goblet of Fire so far in hardcover. I actually think i prefer hardcover to paperback

Alas, no comics for Kindle, it's so far only black and white.

You have Potter books on Kindle? That must be new... last I knew they weren't available.. must go check again...

EDIT: No Potter books on Kindle yet, musta read your post wrong....

The idea of a Kindle is neat, but why get one when you can just get the Kindle app for the iPod?

I'm kind of mad that Warner Bros gave out various Green Lantern rings to movie blogging sites.

It implies they're fearless and have a ****-ton of willpower. Which isn't the case, at all.

It'll only be a matter of time before they release it to the public.

"Hot-Topic shopper #1532 at Store #343, you have shown great amounts of will power...."
"Oh COOL, is this from the new Weezer album?!".
