Sci-fi actioner from Luke Scott, son of director Ridley. Focusing on a corporate troubleshooter sent to investigate an incident regarding a "human" that may or may not harbor immense power.

I just watched the trailer and was about to post! Looks interesting.

It's a very well done teaser. Between Beauty and the Beast and this, I am digging that marketing seems to be heading back to the actual teaser style.

Marking the feature directorial debut of Luke Scott, a commercial veteran and son of filmmaker Ridley Scott, Morgan follows a corporate troubleshooter (Mara) dispatched to a top-secret site to investigate and assess a synthetic life form.

The title character, played by Anya Taylor-Joy of The Witch, looks like a normal human but is rapidly evolving — perhaps beyond known boundaries. Within a month, she was walking and talking; within six months, she was completely self-sufficient. As an unseen character says, “She exceeds our wildest expectations".

I'm disappointed Morgan Freeman isn't playing some sort of authority figure in this.

I'm intrigued but based on the teaser I'm not seeing anything to set it above the dozens of (not so great) films with a similar premise.

Anya Taylor-Joy and Kate Mara? Sign me right the **** on up. The trailer was very intriguing. Looks like it'll be a rad film.

Wow. That is a talented cast.

The script was on the 2014 Black List of Best Unproduced Screenplays.

All three of Ridley Scott's kids have directed feature films now.

One thing I find funny about the trailer is how they kept hiding her face but we pretty much see she looks normal. Also the poster shows it.

First look at Kate Mara in Luke Scott's sci-fi thriller Morgan

Speaking to EW about the film, Luke Scott said, “What Morgan really alludes to is human beings becoming, in a sense, the creator. Not in a traditional religious sense, but an idea that we have the capabilities to become our own creator. And what I suspect could happen — we’ve seen it in all these movies, whether it’s Frankenstein or Metropolis — it’s the creation of a being that is greater than the creator.”

He added, “That is fascinating to me, and it definitely feels like a next stage of evolution in the real world.”

That is the lesson, whenever we create something more powerful than us, it always asks itself, why do I even need them?

watching the full trailer it looked very close to a modern Ridley Scott movie. i forgot that this is his son.

it was a good idea that he is starting with small projects. fake TED Prometheus and this movie.

In a way it looks like they combined Splice with Ex Machina.

She really didn't need any makeup or CG work, she's creepy looking enough.
