Jurassic World Rebirth got ahead once again...

Italy | FRI July 25th:

3. Superman | €89,928 | Tot. €4,266,648

...but it's "safely" reaching the expected €4.4M goal by the end of the WE and hopefully €5M by the end of next week.

Drops are higher this time, -58% compared to last Friday.

After watching F4 last night, I'm just not sure it's going to have as many multiple viewings as Superman. I could be wrong, obviously. Luiz tweeted out an hour ago he thinks F4 is quite front loaded, and his projections seem to be closer to Guardians 3 (118) than Superman (125)

Obviously, time will tell.

I don't care which wins. Bottom line is, we all won.
We needed both to be hits and one is, and the other will be.
Long run, Superman is probably winning cause it has had amazing legs. I am more of a Marvel guy and, as you expect, I liked FF more as a big FF fan. But ultimately, I don't care which does better and never have. I was rooting for both to do well and get sequels to their respective franchises. I aint in this Marvel vs DC thing lol

It was very toxic not so long ago, but I think "most" fans have finally figured out what's good for one (DC Studios) is good for the other
( Marvel) or vice versa.
Disney oversaturated the market and definitely caused a fatigue with multiple series and several films released in a year.

We need to get back to just two films a year that are events, so the anticipation that builds is tremendous ( like we just saw with superman and F4 )
That's how you do it.

True, but I was never one to dog pile on DC even during the DCEU days out of Marvel loyalty. Any criticism I was offering was entirely based on the DCEU's output quality. I've never been about this game of my corporate IP is better than yours thing lol

Oh I did. I enjoyed MoS for what it was, a good starting point.
A new director should have been brought on for a sequel. But noooo. They doubled down Instead.
We know the story. Blah.

Hindsight is always 20/20 but the DCEU should have introduced a Batman solo film (Death in the family) before BVS. It would have made BVS a better movie. I would have even made the solo Batman and BVS literally at the same time. Released Death in the Family around Halloween and then BVS the following summer. WB got to greedy.

Hopefully Gunn won’t rush Batman and Wonder Woman. I wouldn’t mind seeing the Teen Titans before Batman and Wonder Woman if the script is ready.

I expect it to finish around $600–700 million globally, which is a respectable haul. Of course, DC detractors will always find something negative to say, but it’s a shame we can’t just appreciate the variety of comic-book films we’re lucky to have today.

Overall, Superman 2025 is a solid movie, and James Gunn seems to have captured more of the character’s essence this time around. It wasn’t perfect or a home run, but it serves as a promising springboard for future improvements.

Fantastic 4 came in at 118 million domestically. Wow….. It looked like a lock for 130+ after the reviews and opening night. I guess there is some truth about Marvel’s openings being strong and then cooling off.

Superman is just steady eddy. It should past MOS tomorrow domestically. As of right now I get the impression that Superhero movies will make between $400 million low end and $800 million high end at the box office now.
