I was walking down the block earlier, and heard a distinct jingle coming up behind me, I figured it was somebody walking their dog. Turns out it was a dog by itself, sans owner just walking around, and once he/she saw me, proceeded to dart up to me in an effort to play or something. Then I see this girl running up behind the dog, then saying, "sorry about that, but you may not want to get too close, she tends to bite strangers."

Wut?

Why in the **** is she not on a leash, then? If you have a dog, letting them run around the yard or the house or a dog park sans leash is common sense, but on a residential street, just asking for trouble. Don't do that ****.

I probably would have yelled at her.

Of course if there's a cop around, then the mutt will be on a leash

Don't be so sure, some people think their dog won't harm anyone if they let it go around without a leash.

Terry should have let the dog bite him, then he could sue! :)

Some dogs really won't though. My dog is extremely people friendly. Still, if I'm walking her outside, she is on a leash!

I really ****ing hate it when people do that. The other morning my girlfriend and I are preparing to leave when a dog comes out of nowhere and jumps up on her in the driveway. The woman that owns the dog is like "it's ok, he doesn't bite!" Clearly the dog is friendly and just likes people but it's a rainy morning and my gf ends up with dog prints on her work clothes. Completely inconsiderate. It would be one thing if it just happened to escape, but she walks it off the leash EVERY morning.

Dogs in stores, are the other huge issue I have with people. Maybe it's just the area I live in, but whether it's a Home Depot, Wal-Mart, craft store, grocery store, people will just bring dogs with them like it's nothing. Especially the Home Depot. Full size dogs walking around, and they aren't for disabled people. It's getting out of hand.

I've never seen this.

I've never seen this.

Me either

Only ones I see are those for handicap people, pretty sure I see signs saying no pets except for those who having some sort of disables

My gf was kept up all night by her neighbors barking dog, and woke me up to complain about it this morning. So I'm not to friendly on pet owners right now either.

BTW Morg, thats the greatest avatar I've ever seen.:up:

File a complaint to the cops about the barking dog or invest in ear plugs

and thanks

That's exactly what I told her, but she's still unhappy, and by proxy, I'm unhappy.

Sometimes even having the dog on a leash isnt enough. I walked past a guys house one day and noticed his dog was on a leash tied to an outdoor clothing drier. The dog comes running up to me and tries to take a nip of my hand. The guy just stands there saying "No boy, down!" Meanwhile its still trying to bite.

He's friggin biting at people as they walk by man! Tie him up a little further from the sidewalk!:cmad:

Some dogs aren't looking for anything logical. They won't be bought, bullied or negotiated with. Some dogs just want to roam the world unleashed.

This happens a lot in my area. I swear some people are so damn stupid.

I'm still puzzled as to how people can have fully grown dogs in their yard that still bark and growl at people that pass by. Are you even training that bastard? There's a house down the block from me that has an akita, and another that has a german shepard. The shepard is nice as can be, runs up to the gate as I go by, tongue hanging out and tail wagging, jogging alongside people from inside the gate as they walk past, or if he's tired, just lying there. The akita on the other hand, looks like he's ready to bite someone's ass, growls and foams at any single person that walks past, and tries to jump the fence as he's doing it.
