Kevin Smith to Direct Cop Out

This is one of my most anticipated films. Bruce Willis hasn't been playing OTT, smart ass cops enough these days.

Cop-Out?

Jesus

It's perfect.

If Kevin's fans give him any **** for directing a script he didn't write, it'll be bullet-proof.

They called it cop out because they were afraid to use a couple of ***** as the title , thats perfect.

I hate so many things that that trailer chose to be

Also I hate Tracy Morgan trying to be funny

the only part I liked was when the BDP song came on

I thought the SWS parts were funny with him repeating everything Tracy said and the Knock Knock part at the end.

Susie Essman deserves better than a thirty second cameo in this turd. :o

I didn't think it looked funny at all, the only part that made me smile was when Sean William Scott said "This is police brutality" and Bruce replies "Not yet" and does that great chuckle.

Unless this is just a bad trailer that misrepresents the film, this movie really doesn't look very funny.

So far, the trailer isn't getting that great of a response.

I think the main reason is that..okay, it's like a rated R movie that feels Pg-13.
There's a lot of broad humor that fails to push any boundries, or at least in the trailer. Does that make sense?

It's like the humor should be silly but I was expecting something a little bit wit beneath the context of the jokes. Yes, I'll bring up 30 Rock and maybe Lethal Weapon or Die Hard. But the jokes here are strangely safe. Well according to the trailer.

For me it's more that the jokes aren't that funny. It's like the concept may be funny, the actors may be delivering them in a funny-sounding manner, but the actual way the jokes are delivered aren't funny (except maybe the knock knock one). One good example is the woman whipping out the gun and the two cops going on about it without any real punchline.

^^^ Good point, there is no zing on the end of the set ups.

@ Octoberist, is this gonna be an R? if so it might explain the lackluster trailer a bit better.

Hopefully Bruce redeems himself in a small cameo in "The Expendables."

And I believe he will.

It's a green band version of an R rated film. The red band one will likely add context to the jokes.

I'm just happy to see smart ass ****e eating grin Bruce back, even if the film is't all that great.

this explains everything.

becase i just wanted to writte how something wasnt right in this trailer. it would also explain why it looked like Bruce is only standing next to Tracy Morgan in this movie. it looks like Bruce Wills has all the R jokes that they couldnt show in this trailer.

:awesome:

bruce willis and sean william scott look like their gonna be gold in this movie. And it looks like Kevin Smith finally got some practice coordinating action scenes. I'll be seeing this.

Don't worry guys, I think the movie will be OK.

Kevin Smith is a geek like every fanboy, and he's won me over for this movie by bringing Harold Faltermeyer out of hollywood retirement to do the music for this movie.

For those that might have forgetten, Faltermeyer did all the awesome music for Beverly Hills Cop 1, 2, Fletch, Fletch Lives, Top Gun, Running Man, Tango & Cash, Kuffs.

So Buddy Cop Movie + some retro Harold Faltermeyer jams should make us happy come February!

Man, I wish Eddie Murphy would hurry up with Beverly Hills Cop 4 now!

ive read the script
and scenes in the trailer are similar to those in the script
and the script rules
the lackluster trailer is becuz of the r-rated script imo
