Kid wanted to see if he could stop a train with Kung fu

Remember kids, not everything that you see in the movies is remotely possible.

For example, stopping a fully loaded train going high speed with a karate kick or punch.

That's your lesson for the day.

You're talking about people who try and stop trains with punches or kicks.

Kung fu fan tries to stop train
(China Daily)
Updated: 2006-06-03 09:06

A 17-year-old boy surnamed Liang almost died when he tried to use a kung fu movement to stop a running train in Laibin Railway Station in South China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region on Tuesday, Nanguo Jinbao reported.

Liang was pushed to safety by a railway policeman just as he was about to be knocked down. Liang jumped down to the tracks and wanted to use Xianglongshibazhang, a famous kung fu posturing described in many swordsman fictions, to stop the running train.

He was taken into custody for breaking railway rules and said he wanted to test whether or not he could use kung fu to stop the train. Liang is a great fan of swordsman fiction and has also learnt martial arts.

Japan-amation i.e. Anime kills. Pretty soon all of Japan and parts of a America will be like "I AM GOKU AND NOTHING CAN KILL ME!!!" and will jump in front of trains. XD:up:

If this doesn't convince the fundamentalists that evolution exists, then I don't know what will.

I agree with Whirly. Liang is a prick. I hope the train gets him next time. :)

Yeah - if they'd said 10, I'd have been sorry for the little guy for having such obviously neglectful parents. But 17? OBVIOUSLY he has gone through life bereft of several very important life lessons.

Frankly at this point, I'd be surprised if he knew how babies were made.

Lol...I am gonna try to do that next time I see a train. NOT! What an idiot

It frightens me to think that someone is so stupid that they actually believe they could do that succesfully

but if they want to try let them it thins out the herd

Did they say if the boy was mentally healthy?

Perhaps he was mentally challenged, saw a TV show, and tried to emulate it. Kinda sad when you think about it that way.

No they didnt say

if he was i may feel sorry for him but he was probably just a complete moron and therefore i feel no pity

Yes, but he's 17 - and the distance with reality that would allow him to think his actions were in any way feasible leads me to believe that he's one OAV short of an anime series.

Any time a martial art has more than three tiny words to describe it, you can't trust it.

Maybe he was actually trying to commit suicide but didn't want anyone to know if he failed, so made up that lame excuse.

He would have looked less stupid if he had said he was trying to kill himself though.
