This just in: Killjoys takes off on Space in June. The specialty network made the announcement earlier today, noting Season 1 launches Friday, June 19, at 9 p.m. ET on Space.

As previously announced, the Space/Syfy series—starring Aaron Ashmore, Luke Macfarlane and Hannah John-Kamen—comes from the folks at Temple Street Productions, who head up a little show called Orphan Black. Michelle Lovretta (Lost Girl) serves as writer, creator and showrunner.

The trio portray three interplanetary bounty hunters—a.k.a. Killjoys—as they fulfill deadly warrants across a planetary system called the Quad. (Check out the explosive teaser trailer below.)

Here’s how Space describes each character:

“Hannah John-Kamen stars as the gorgeous, complicated, and deadly Dutch. A top-level Killjoy, she’s a much loved and charming presence in her community, with a unique gift for earning people’s trust and respect regardless of their class. Under her banter and protective flirtations, there is pain, maturity, and a deep solemnity resulting from a dark secret past.

Aaron Ashmore takes on the role of John Jaqobis, a Level 3 Killjoy who, despite his profession, is a peacemaker who hates conflict. Cheerful and kind-hearted, John prefers not to fight, but his sarcastic wit has put him into the fray enough over the years to teach him how to do it well, and dirty. Give this man any machine or situation, and he can fix it, build it, and fly it.

Luke Macfarlane stars as D’avin, a handsome, rugged, sarcastic, and incredibly loyal former soldier. He dreamed of enlisting in the military since boyhood, and his hard-won expertise in tactics, manoeuvres, and hand-to-hand combat make him an instant asset to the Killjoy team.”

They should make Saga a tv series.

Put it on HBO.

Probably only going to check this one out because of Aaron. I'm a sucker for those Ashmore twins.

Oh, I thought maybe this was based on Gerald Way's comic book. I guess not.

This is a fun show.

I'm digging this show so far but...Anyone else worried that there aren't enough characters? It's clearly going for that 'Firefly' demographic, but...Firefly had 9 main characters. This one only has 3. And they're all cool, but I wonder if their interactions won't get stale after a while.

I'm glad that there are only three main characters right now so that it gives us more time to get to know them. Dutch's past is going to obviously be a focal point as the series goes on, but John and D'avin are getting plenty of screen time to get to know them as well. It also keeps them from straying too far into stereotype territory. Dutch is the head honcho, John is the brains, D'avin is the tactical support. All three are capable in their own right, but are carving out enough of their own mold to make a case for their inclusion in the crew. Dark Matter comes on the same night, and it's hard not to see that whole cast as being full of types we haven't seen before besides the captain.

This show is great. Hope it gets renewed.

If this show doesn't get a second season we should riot. They have done a damn good job of putting together a good, likable crew of people in addition to setting the tone for many conflicts for next season.

Too bad this and Dark Matter aren't in the same universe. They easily could be. DM's Two could be a KJ's level 6. The crew of DM could have KJ's crews on their asses. I hope both get picked up.

I love this show and Dark Matter. They have a great classic feel to them because of the richness of the history and premise.

I agree with X-Ray and had this thought yesterday that it would be awesome the two shows were connected. They both have similar themes.

Just finished the season finale. Wow! I can't wait to find out what the heck is going on with all the cliffhangers they left.

Good deal, they have lots to build on.

Love Dutch she is an exotic beauty. Hannah will have good career ahead, I think.

This just started in the UK, loved Dark Matter so will give this a go, first episode was decent.

Hope they improve the action scenes for next season. But enjoyed the first. Happy they are both renewed and expanse also gets a few seasons.

Hannah John-Kamen (Dutch) played a First Order Officer in Star Wars: The Force Awakens

Imagine if all the background characters from EpVII moved to the forefront in VIII and IX. Certainly plenty of star power there.

Good to have this fun show back.

And of course Johnny is going to fall for the cyborg.
