Comics Kingdom Come Superman looks like Max Fleischer Superman

I know it's stupid to point out, but I can't help feeling an odd sense of amusement at how Superman's costume in Kingdom Come resembles the Max Fleischer Superman costume, most notably in having a black background to the "S" insignia.
