I'm all for it. The biggest problem will be making a 2025 version of KITT seem as advanced and futuristic to today's audience as the original did in the 80s - now that we already have self-driving cars, voice recognition, onboard computers and smartphones that can access any information, etc.

The relationship between KITT and Michael was the heart of the show too. Hasselhoff was never an oscar-calibre actor but he played Michael Knight with such pluck and likeability next to KITT's more sardonic nature that it made for a perfect pairing. Even with Val Kilmer voicing KITT, the 2008 show couldn't recreate that magic. So they will have to cast very carefully.

Be good to see Hasselhoff cameo again, now he's older maybe he could play the head of the Foundation.

Val Kilmer was too monotone for KITT. William Daniels made KITT more uptight and prissy and inquisitive and less like a computer (which Kilmer sounded more like). Also I don't think KITT needs to seem advanced or futuristic in appearance. He could look like a vintage 80s Pontiac TransAm rather than some modern car. He just needs modern tech. After all, James Bond still drives an Aston Martin DB5 which isn't exactly a modern car.

Oh yeah, the aesthetics of KITT aren't that important really, it's what is underneath that matters. But even in that respect, it's just probably more difficult to wow the modern audience with tech than it was in the 80s, and more difficult to come up with features that cars don't already have or won't have in the near future.

I think it's the buddy-buddy relationship that is the most important between Michael and KITT more than the tech. That's what was missing in the 2008 reboot. Because as you say, most cars already have the potential for advanced features either now or in the future.

well originally it was supposed to be Will Arnett he recorded the dialog for the 'pilot' movie but he got let go cause he was at the time (and still is) doing voice over work for GMC trucks and they did not like the idea of him doing voice for stuff that was basically promoting Ford. I only heard his voice in promos and there are clips on youtube of him having the lines instead of Kilmer. I liked Kilmer but as stated was kind of bland as the voice of the 2008 KITT.

as I said in a past post in this thread if they can keep the cars in the movie versions of Dukes of Hazzard and Starsky and Hutch almost 100% the same why can't we have a 80s Pontiac as KITT I mean they made thousands of them from 82 to 92 so it would be far easier than to score up late 60s Chargers or early mid 70s Torinos .
