Surely the UN as an idea is not that flawed. While in power Annan stood by while countries starved, while countries tore itself apart, while thousands were slaughtered and did nothing. Don't forget that whole "Oil for Food" Scandel that happened under his watch and he was caught making his son a fortune through UN deals.

Bush has had his flaws, but he at his worst does not near the job good ole' Kofi has done.

He did such a good job standing up to the United States that he allowed the Americans to make the United Nations become so incompetent it's not even funny.

Not to mention that his run of the United Nations practically ignored the crisis going on in Darfur, failed to come up with a competent settlement between the Palestinians and the Israelis relying on the United States to do it, did not step up to the plate on North Korea relying on the United States, Russia, Japan, China, and South Korea to do it.

Not to mention the corruption of the United Nations under his term. His son was profiting off of contracts and lets not even go on the Oil for Food Program with Iraq.

Or how about declaring that a man guilty of sexual harrassment was innocent.

Allowing nations such as Iran, Tunisia, China, Russia, Cuba, Pakistan, Syria, Libya and other nations that do not respect human rights on the Human Rights Committee yet kicking the United States out of it for a short period of time. You know, Bush hasn't been that keen on respecting human rights, but seriously, to allow those nations to serve on the Committee...PATHETIC.

Yeah, he did a real good job in the UN. You know, just saying harsh words to the United States really doesn't do much for standing up to the United States, refusing to support the Iraq war doesn't do much for standing up to those damn dirty Americans! Relying on the United States to solve the world's problems doesn't do much to stand up to them.

I'm glad to see Annan go. He was horrible at his job.
